Even though I do not particularly like her character at this point in time, I believe that she will be a very powerful character by the end of the manga.
Think about it...
The writers have always portrayed them as the current 'sannin group' ~ what i mean by that is that they are a team that is extremely powerful. Also Tsunade taught Sakura, Oro- Sasuke, and Jiriya to Naruto.
Also, in the beginning of the manga, there were multiple pictures in the manga (not part of it, but before/after) that show them together with the same summonings of the 3 sannins...
So, lets talk about Naruto.
He was taught sage mode by the toad, and rasengan by Jiriya. He then combined both, along with the use of his natural affinity for wind, and perfected his own jutsu - rasenshuriken.
He took what his teachers had taught him, and made something out of it.
Lets look at Saske
... He learned lightning style from kakashi, and developed the chidori into multiple varrients of the jutsu...
He learned taijutsu from lee, which he combined with his lightning style for an even bigger threat.
After abandoning the leaf we didnt get to see exactally how he developed. But he used what he was taught before, and made it better...
And now, Sakura.
She has been taught medical ninjutsu by the best medical ninja, Tsunade.
She has observed, and understood how Lady Chiyo's medical technique works.
-.- She will likely perfect medical ninjutsu by combining what she has learned.
How? Shouldn't she die?
Sakura has always been known to have a large forehead. (ino calling her billboard brow)
Kishi will likely do something with her forehead. Otherwise, he would have chosen any other body part to either: make fun of sakura, or place tsunade's yin seal.
Sakura will likely get the yin seal, and use it while perfecting Chiyo's tech.
The yin seal does not simply heal you. It rebuilds you better.
So, if by some miraculous chance, she survives using Chiyo's tech, she will be able to use it without dieing because her body will be able to handle that... or she will need to use the yin seal every time she uses the life giving tech.
Either way. she has been set up to become a powerful character. Even if she currently isnt living up to her entitlement, she will exceed her predecessors.
