it is clear the rinnegan is played out i mean common nagato had it and madara has it and tobito has it and its just been done to death so to give it to sasuke aswell i think would be a big mistake on kishi part so what i think will happen is this

hashi and the 4 kages are gonna get sasuke past his hatred and then when he is forced to the edge through love not hate he will have his eyes transform into something completely different then we have seen b4

and no not even the sages sons eyes as his were formed from hatred aswell as the manga said he wanted power and hated the sage for picking the other son

i think sasuke will become something ...... entirely new, something we havn't seen before (demonic). BTW the SO6P'S older son was born with the rinnegan (inherited his father's eyes), and sasuke can hate all he want, if he doesn't get himself some of that senju DNA he is not getting a rinnegan.

I will agree, however, that the Rinngan is completely played out. Its actually underpowered nowadays, especially when it comes to techniques like PS, to the point where the main villain won't even utilize its advantages in battle.
