All I'll say is, Itachi didn't agree to it so easily. It was either kill your family and save your brother. Or I'll do it and kill everyone including you and your brother.

That's not a very hard choice to make -_- And saying he should've come up with something better is plain stupid. You can say that about any character. And if he thought of something else, Danzo wouldn't allow him to do so. Why?

Because Danzo is a village elder, and he has the final saying. Danzo wasn't calling the shots because of his power, but his diplomatic and political standing

He had no choice, it was either 1) Kill the clan, and let everyone else live, or 2) Fight with the clan, which would result in the death of the clan, along with a s***load of other people. He had two really bad choices, and picked the one that'd be better for everyone, as the Uchiha clan were already doomed.

He didn't do it out of evil, and he was certainly not forced to do it by Danzo, he simply made the right choice in an exceptionally bad situation.

i 100 % agree with this ^^, i would like to add ANOTHER choice itachi had, witch is joining his clan but again he did the right thing. and DANZO was a boss, i mean it was his idea lol
