Hypothetical explanation

Sanin were pupils of 3rd Hokage lets say at age 11.

4 years earlier he was appointed Hokage by Tobirama who was about to sacrifice himself. While sanin were 7 years old.

Tobirama was only hokage for a short time, say for 3 years after Hashirama's death. Sanin were 4 when he was made Hokage.

Tsunade knew her grandfather for only the first 4 years of her life.

In short what I'm saying is that Tobirama's reign as Hokage was short.

Again this is a hypothetical synopsis.

I will join others in calling the original post out on its silliness. Hashirama was born. At age 35, he accepts Madara's challenge and defeats him at VoTE. Madara is presumed dead. Age 18, Madara unlocks M.S. according to the video games. Less than two years later by canon, Madara unlocks EMS by transplanting Izuna's eyes, Izuna dies shortly thereafter.

Here Madara swears revenge on the Senju for causing this to his brother. Madara now sees no meaning in war aside from the destruction of his enemies. Madara vows to destroy the entirety of the ninja world for depriving him of his brother and to slaughter the Senju and completely and ultimately crush every last vestige of the Will of Fire, exposing Hashirama as the ultimate hypocrite once and for all.

10 years later during the Great Ninja War, Shodaime Hokage is killed in battle under mysterious circumstances. Before his death Tsunade is born. She barely remembers him, as she was no older than 3-4. Shodaime Hokage also had the anti-aging technique and technically died when he was 40-50 years old. One year late, Tobirama dies to save Hiruzen. Hiruzen remains Hokage for most of the existence of Konoha, from around "1950" to the events of Manga part one. This preserves fully the 100 year timeline described in the original series of Naruto, as 50+50 = 100.

Fifty years after Hashirama dies, Madara has survived with Hashirama cells and creates clones of Zetsu. He dies and Obito immediately attacks Konoha and Naruto's parents die. Eight years later, the Uchiha massacre happens when a young Itachi confronts Obito posing as Madara. Itachi is entrusted with Shisui's remaining eye. Four years later, Naruto and Sasuke graduate the Academy.

Orochimaru attacks Konoha. Three years later we have the events of Shippuden. Total time elapsed is around 100 years. That's easily enough time for three generations of humans to live. Fail thread is fail.

1st Hokage Died when the 2nd was in charge,

3rd Hokage was YOUNG when he was the 2nds student.

2nd Hokage Died when 3rd became Hokage at a young age.

Young 3rd had the 5th as his student ( she was 12-13 looking )

So she should have been a little girl 2-4 when the 2nd Hokage was in charge,
And the first hokage should have died some time after the 2nd became hokage.

So Tsu should have been like 1-2 years old when the 1st was alive.

This is how Kishi draws 6 year olds... in other words nothing like what Team Kakashi looked like, or team Minato looked like (who were meant to be 12-13 in age, which looks like this:

And yes, I've taken google search images that are not from the manga, but they are consistent with the manga drawings I can link you to. So your proposed timeline is impossible, because you're adding 6 extra years to bring Tsunade up to 12.

This thread is true, I can point out quite a few timeline errors in the story. So those saying it's not an error and protecting Kishi like if he was their blood relative should chill and do research first.

The death of Hashi, the entire reign of Tobirama, and Hiruzen going from teen to adult happened in 3 years??!

saying that Hiruzen couldnt have gone from a teenager to an adult in three years is a weak argument. look at the progression Naruto made in three years.

There are some timeline snafu's but this is not one of them.

Why Kishi, why? It was already clear Tsunade couldn't have known the 1st Hokage, based on the timeline. Now, suddenly she did, so we get a funny joke... doesn't he have staff to point this stuff out to him before he does it?

After all, the 1st and 2nd Hokage reigned for a not inconsiderable period, so even if the 1st knew her just before his death, and the 2nd reigned the minimal number of years, she's still too old to be a genin under (adult) Saru, with his beard and such. Annoying.

Well, she is pretty old, and when Hiruzen trained the soon-to-be sanin, he wasn't hokage, wich means the Kage was most likely Tobirama while the three kids were young teenagers. Tsunade in the flashback looked like she was six or seven.
