Can someone explain Sugestu to me?

I get how he's considered strong because he cant really be hurt since hes water, but hes not that strong either.. nor is Zabuzas sword, how is it one of the strongest 7 swords if it broke that easily? Sugestu seems more of a "just to be there" character rather then an official character.. explain? :c I've watched and re-watched most of his fights, he normally only wins because you cant hurt him.




PS:I'm not saying he isnt strong, and a cool character, I'm glad sasuke chose him other than karin for the 3 main people in his group, and he is pretty useful, but i just don't understand his actual strength

I Just studyed up on the swords, and honestly I like zabuzas sword the best, it regenerates from the iron from the blood from who it cuts. thats pretty badas*, so I see why its not insanely strong :3

Yea but still. Suigetsu's strength isn't just in the sword so saying the sword breaks too easy shouldn't discredit his skills.

And he's more than a "just to be there" character. His abilities were studied and recreated by Kabuto, him and the rest of Taka helped Sasuke out a lot even tho he trashed them, he's with Sasuke and Oro right now so his role is still developing, he's the one who found the RDS scroll and brought it to Sasuke. Without him, the plot would have moved a lot slower.

All characters play a certain role so no character is there just to be there.

Well he's not supposed to be kage level or anything. He does have his uses though.

It seems he can actually morph his body more than we know of, seeing as how he can buff his arm up to increase his strength. Other than that though, he's mostly known for his clan abilities like forming into water as we all know along with some more forgotten traits like his water pistol. These are actually pretty deadly by themselves; remember what happened to Jugo? Of course if he's by a body of water, he becomes much stronger thanks to the nature of his move set (see his short skirmish against the Hachibi).
