Misconception: Obito has always been stronger than Itachi

Somehow this turned into a versus thread. I've come to realize vs threads are pointless because nobody know how kishi would make the fight turn out. its obvious there was mutual respect between them. if not obito wouldn't have waited for itachi to die before sending pain to attack the leaf. or itachi would have made obito his top priority instead of sasuke

it was stated that izanami was created to punish izanagi users, and maybe it works against izanagi users more effectively than the normal shinobis (kabuto), and itachi deosn't have to loose his eye if he casted on obito, and even if it's a last resort, it's still a reason for kabuto to be afraid , knowing that itachi have a kinjutsu that will stop him.
it's just a theory man, just a theory, who knows? :shrug:

I understand but i don't think especially since we talk about a jutsu that needs similar body sensation 2times to be activated and it even takes a while before the real activation. Itachi trying to use Izanami would need to go in close combat for that which would be suicide against Obito's intangibility(so no body sensation) combined with his warping

Obito destroys Itachi. He is perfect for it. His intangibility makes Susanoo useless then it's kamui to the face.

Kamui's weakness = Itachi.

Itachi makes Obito his pet, Minato and Kabuto are already Itachi's pets.

I didn't want to turn it into a versus thread, but wanted to clear some misconceptions and if you read the thread you'll have known some of those misconceptions. Obito never tried to attack the leaf to begin with since everything went according to plan

Read the thread. If he really wanted to attack the leaf, he had more than 7years to do so even before meeting Itachi. Attacking the leaf wasn't part of his plan to begin with

Misconception number2: Obito couldn't attack Konoha because of Itachi, so Obito feared Itachi

1- For those who really believe this, i would ask you something. What makes you believe Obito even wanted to attack the leaf at that moment to begin with? He spent 7years before even meeting Itachi. Why didn't he attack the leaf during that period? And suddenly after meeting Itachi, he would want to attack the leaf, but couldn't because of his fear?

OT: Most people think that he was afraid because he said something like "now that Itachi is dead, I can attack the Leaf" which implies that Itachi was the reason for him not to attack. It doesn't mean that he was afraid of Itachi it could have been a different reason, but he was waiting for Itachi to die.

Attacking each other was difficult for the both of them. If Itachi attacks Obito Akatsuki would have Obito's back, and if Obito attacks Itachi then maybe if Itachi managed to live he would warn the world and ruin his plan. Or simply they were both scared of each other.

Obito is insanely, incredibly overrated. What could Obito possibly do OFFENSIVELY to win against Itachi? The way I see it, Itachi just had to wait out Kamui then he's golden.

Why would Akatsuki have Obito's back when most of them didn't know he existed? They'd be rather upset there was someone behind the scenes pulling the strings and I suppose most of them wouldn't get involved in their fight at all. Except possibly Nagato who seemed to support Obito's viewpoint.

To the people thinking Obito's secret was kamui.. it wasn't. It was that his right part of his body was zetsu.. That's how he escaped amaterasu
