While similar at first glance to the Rinnegan, the ancestor's eyes did not have the same ripple-like pattern of concentric circles. Instead, his dōjutsu had a more spiral-like pattern originating from the pupil. He also had clearly defined sclerae unlike the Rinnegan which has concentric circles covering the entire eye.This is a result of inheriting his father's powerful chakra and spiritual energy.
Look familiar to another spiral like pattern ?

{It is important to note that last line as some would say is only similar because the ancestors eye has one more swirl - it doesn't. The outer line is the sclaerae.(Meaning a visible ring around the pupil.)
If you place the uzumaki symbol inside the clearly defined ring you end up with the ancestors eye.}
The members of the Uzumaki clan possessed both incredible longevity(A.K.A psychical energy) and life force (A.K.A spiritual energy)
We know that the sage who was a priest in the time when samurai ruled became the host for the juubi and afterwards gave birth to two sons.
Each son taking on distinctive traits.
The younger son, who inherited the Sage's "body" (his powerful will and physical energy)
The elder son,who inherited the Sage's "eyes" (his powerful chakra and spiritual energy)
The relation between the senju and uzumaki is apparent because through the love they shared kept in contact with one another.This love is still showcased through konoha still to this day by having the symbol of the uzumaki on there attire.
The uchiha garnered the sages immense new found chakra from the juubi (which is why there eyes are connected to the beast) and gained the sages spiritual energy which manifested in their eyes.
The senju took more or so after the sage (uzumaki himself) with the psychical body gaining great psychical energy (not the life force)The strong life force is what keeps the uzumaki alive during extraction of the tailed beast.This is why is was vital for an uzumaki to be the jinchuuriki. Otherwise senju would of been the jinchuuriki not the uzumaki.The sage retained the third trait still unique to the uzumaki which is the strong life force.
Naruto being an uzumaki already gained possession of all the tailed beast chakra 1 - 7
And what happened after that ?

Naruto gained the silhouette of the sage.Why ? Because naruto currently embodies the chakra's that resided inside the sage when he was the jinchuurki of the juubi.

I covered this many times most of them under the thread titled the uzumaki will be confirmed to be the bloodline of the sage.This time i came at it from a slightly different approach for people who were not on NB early last year when i originally made the thread and for others who have read the thread but don't want the exact same thread thrown at them again.

UPDATE: This info does not fit anywhere per say in the above statement but is note worthy
It is clearly stated that senju inherited the Sage's "body" — life force AND physical energy
Spiritual energy is concerned with the soul which is extracted out of you when the beast itself is extracted.The uzumaki can subvert this because they have strong spiritual energy.
Even though i said both ancestors get there main aspects from different parts of the same jinchuurki it does not mean they the uchiha don't share a connection with the uzuamki.
That connection is the spiritual energy.A.K.A the life force.
You know the essence in their eyes that can be transferred to other uchiha making them strongerr (A.K.A ETERNAL MS)
