He had the Mokuton. Imagine the Mokuton like Gaara's sand. Gaara is slow, but his sand is fast. I think this was the situation with Hashirama too.

With mokuton of course. He didn't use taijutsu to defeat the PS and the Kyubbi so saying he can beat Tsunade in taijutsu because he beat Madara and the Kyubbi makes no sense since Hashirama didn't beat his adversaries with taijutsu alone.
