As the water from the water snakes mouth hits the lava it begins to cool down the lava hardening it and thelava golems, but also heats up the water creating explosive steam

The wind captures this steam and blows it back towards your clones. when the steam and small amounts of lava that got picked up by the huge blast of wind hits the clones, they poof from excessive burns. the resulting noxious fumes from the lava are also blown towards them.

This leaves hardened lava with an innner triangle of forest around us
