[Discussion] Have we been too hard on Sasuke?

Imagine if your mother was killed, then multiply that pain by the amount of Sasuke's loved ones that died (we don't know how many friends he had, relatives, etc.), then take into account that he has the Uchiha genes which makes them love each other more, then take into account that it was his BROTHER that murdered his loved ones, then take into account that he killed his brother with his own hands (who he later found out was innocent), then take into account that the ones responsible for this was his beloved village.

I'm not supporting Sasuke murdering innocent people, but it's really no surprise he is doing what he is doing. Look at Obito and Madara, the Uchiha gene is so powerful that they want to destroy the world because their crush/brother died. They only lost one loved one each, compare that too how much Sasuke lost.

Just in case people say "But Madara and Obito were Uchiha as well, so they would have been saddened when the Uchiha were wiped out!". That is excusing the fact that Madara hates the Uchiha for abandoning him, and that Obito cared so little for his clan that he would even help Itachi wipe them all out. It seems like Obito and Madara are doing a lot worse than Sasuke for a lot less, but I guess the difference is that Obito/Madara are doing what they think is right, while Sasuke is doing what he knows is wrong.

When he was after Itachi I could deal with it....working under Orochimaru wasn't a good thing, but I dealt with it.

Once he killed Danzo I accepted that...fair enough.

When he decided to kill everyone in Konoha because apparantly it was all of their faults (not the Uchiha Clan Madara supporters' and Danzo's fault) I called childish.

Depending on the next two chapters he will either be ready for redemption, or he will completely fall to childish vengence

sasuke has not killed anyone that is innocent for one thing. hes only killed three terrorists (deidara, orochimaru(even though he came back), and zetsu err zetsus. danzo is just as bad as any terrorist even though he isnt one considering all the **** hes done and let happen. i believe he also let obito attack konoha which is why he wasnt there and they know each other.

^^Pretty much this. Nothing can excuse how ****ed up he was during the Kage Summit arc. He had completely succumbed to his hatred. I kinda lost all hope for him once he tried to sacrifice Karin to kill a guy who was already practically dead

I can understand each and every member of the Uchiha clan alot better now. The way Kishi explained things (or started to explain things) is a good twist. I hated this 'uchiha=bad guy because they are uchiha' thing anyway. I also think they will all eventually find peace at the end of the manga. Before, most people really thought they were born ****ed up and evil. Of course what they were doing was wrong (someone had to be the enemy in the story, for whatever reason) but at least it is understandable now.

The only one who can be saved (in a way of living a normal life) is probably Sasuke who was understandable for me from the beginning on. Maybe now that he knows of his own insanity, he can handle it differently, depending on what the other hokage say to him. The other two will just die/be sealed because simply, their time is over. Maybe Sasuke will be the one who learns from his clans' mistakes.

The question after the last chapter more is 'do they even have a choice?'. Emotionally, physically? When something with their brain is messed up, they run out of control and become evil? Not so sure on that one. They never lose their intelligence and when the resolve is creating a world of peace... Hard to rate that before the story is really over.

Think about Pain's resolve. Creating a world of peace by using war and control. Then Naruto offered a better way and he gave up. Now we have two crazy Uchihas who want their enforced world of peace by using mass genjutsu, and we have Sasuke. His resolve is killing everyone. Whose resolve is/was the worst?
