I want the Base's thoughts on some things.

With the lastest 619 chapter of Naruto we've learned that the greater an Uchiha's pain is, the more power that they are able to gain through their hatred and suffering.

I have then two questions:

  1. Why would a Mangekyo Sharingan go toward the dark the moment it's awakened, when the normal three tomoe Sharingan doesn't?
  2. What pain could be greater than Itachi's that Madara would have soas to allow him to gain a power greater than what Itachi had?

1. Because it just doesn't. Not much to explain here.
2. Not sure what you're asking...

It's not so much the amount of pain as the reaction to pain. Itachi knew what he had to do and even though he cried and was sad he still went thru with the mission while madara got increasingly hateful and it sparked new powers in him that itachi could have had if he wasn't so level headed xd

So would a traumatized Uchiha rape victim or an Uchiha that suffered a miscarriage be considered Overpowered?

^This pretty much, according to how uchihas are now being described. It just seems the more f*cked up their life is, the more powerful they are.

1. Because the mangekyo sharingan uses more power than the the aver three tomoe sharingan. Imagine you needed glasses if you don't use them you'll strain your eyes which is like uses the mangekyo sharingan. If you do use them you eyes won't be strained like the standard three tomoe sharingan.

2. Itachi lost his best friend to gain his mangekyo sharingan and he never attempted to gain the eternal mangekyo sharingan. Madara however gained his mangekyo sharingan through countless battles and later gained his eternal mangekyo sharingan through the death of his brother. As Tobirama stated Madara loved his brother more than Itachi loved Sasuke. So in conclusion Madara went through a lot more than Itachi.

I think the reason Itachi kept Sasuke alive was so Itachi didn't go completely off the deep end.

Itachi was able to understand the curse of the uchiha and with his superior intellect, tried to setup the "ideal" future to keep his clans name clean and setup sasuke as a hero.

It's obvious Itachi had some love and respect for his origins, but he loved his younger bro the most.

Madara's source of power is the strong hatred and despair ....
as stated in last chapter sharingan becomes stronger and aligns with the feeling making him stronger....

According to Tobirama's justifications, the greater the love.... the greater the hate produced by the loss of that love.

That is exactly why Hashirama said that he dared even say that Madara's love for his younger brother was even greater than Itachi's love for Sasuke. According to the Senju brothers, Madara became impossible to reason with after he lost his brother.

To answer your questions:
  1. Honestly, I dont know. But I'll guess that it takes a whole lot more hate/loss to activate a MS than a normal sharingan.

  2. Different people experience the same events differently. Simply put, some people are just more sensitive to certain events than others. I've seen people throw tantrums over the exact same experience I've easily shaken off in the past. Madara's brother died and his clan forsook him. He obviously took it really, really badly.

On the other hand we have Itachi who's a bit more reserved and wiser than Madara and a who enjoys battle a whole lot less than Madara. So, Itachi's probably more emotionally equipped to keep "the Curse" at bay. Also, Itachi loved his brother and the Village more than anything. Unlike Madara, he manage to protect both, from within the shadows.
