Financially, America is actually quite horrible. We may be powerful, we may seem free, but reality is America is f---ing itself over. We have a debt of over $16 trillion. Now most would say oh, but that's just the goverment, the citizens are fine. Well, no, no we are not. That national debt is our debt. Each American has a debt of over $50k to them because of that. Our buildings, bridges, roads, they're all unsafe except for the ones built in recent years due to the lack of money. Our schools are in trouble, education is declining.

Worst of all, the "grown-ups" who think they are fixing the problem are only fixing their problem. The outcome will screw over the next generation, the generation after that and the generation after that. In the long run, we're in an impending crisis. Our fancy freedom, the false advertisement to lure you to our country, it's all a lie so that we can have a higher population to spread our debt wider.

Don't move to America if you've been thinking about it. I really want to move out.

All you say is true, and your aware of the problem. Not to be insulting, but i assume at a younger age. your generation is smarter than the one that came before it. Why leave when you could make a difference. My generation is probably the bridge gap to the generation has a real chance of making this country better. Look at the average age, and wealth of those that are running this country. There's a small disconnect going on with what was, what is, and what can be.

As a prior service member in the us military, i kinda have to take offense to the worst troops in the world comment. in what capacity are you talking about? America has the most consistently well trained armies in the world, has the finest navy on the planet, an expeditionary force that inspires fear, and an air force that can drop a bomb in your backyard without messing up your house. So tell me again how US troops are the worst in the world?

Why would i be anything other than what i say i am. I don't have any thing to prove, and am to old to care. OT the answer is yes, the US spends way too much on military and has ever since it became an industrial war machine during WWII. Eisenhower's great fear was that it was becoming too much a part of the economic makeup of the US and he was correct. Too many folks are dependent upon the military spending either directly through the military or indirectly through government and private enterprises. The best and brightest minds go to develop more powerful weapons when what they should be doing is helping to change our dependence on harmful energy sources. This of course presents another hurdle since oil companies usually fall in the top 10 most profitable companies. It's really not that hard to figure out motivations. Forget about ideology and the concept of Nations. Just follow the money. That's what it's always been about.

I've grown listening to ppl talking about how mighty United Sates of America are and how developed they are compared to the rest of the world (Japan, Germany & South Korea not included, of course) and just a few minutes ago i was checking a thread talking about the U.S military funds and how big it is.
I love America though i don't live there, but seriously: does America REALLY need such an enormous amount of money wasted on military R+D? Which country would be crazy enough to attack them? They have the most advanced army in the world, the second one in manpower....then again: why is that amount of money necessary?

It's funny you mention this. The only Logical explanation would be all the other military funding. I think we should cut the military spending in half, and use that 25 cents to every dollar for education. That would allow people with bad schooling, to get a well paying job.
