Gajeel is tall and muscular young man with long, spiky black hair, which is usually kept slicked back, revealing his forehead. He has red eyes (initially portrayed as green) with slitted dark pupils and no visible eyebrows. Most of his exposed body is covered in sets of simple, round studs. The most visible studs are on his face, with three of them above each of his eyes (acting as "eyebrows" of a sort), three on each side of his nose, and two on his chin, just below his mouth. His ears are adorned by two sets of five earrings each.
He also sports four studs on each of his forearms, with his right one being covered in scars. Gajeel's usual outfit consists of a shabby, black, sleeveless tunic with studded edges, with a studded belt around his waist, loose whitish pants tucked inside studded black boots, and a pair of studded brown gloves paired with similarly studded wristbands. He also sports a distinctive wing-like ornament, seemingly made of feathers jutting upwards, over his right shoulder, attached to his tunic by a large stud

Personality
Gejeel was depicted as cold and apathetic, and didn't hesitate to injure his own allies if he was irritated. Despite saying that he doesn't wish to make friends, he ironically forms them through his tenacious personality. He believes himself to be a great musician, regardless of what others think of him, and enjoys showing off his metal grinding, glass cracking, and ear destroying voice

Background Information
History
Gajeel was born in Kirigakure, to the general of the army. His father always wanted Gajeel to take his role as war general when his fathers time will come, but Gajeels mother was a book worm, and wanted Gajeelto follow her steps.
After many years, Gajeelollowed his mothers step into becoming a book worm, this lead to him passing all his exams in the ninja academy with flying colors.
Gajeels father was in charge of the mission to kill of the Kaguya clan. Gajeel never saw his father again, knowing he must of died in the battle. This didn't stop Gajeel from living his dreams.
One thing that did stop Victor from living his dream was the death of his mother. A group of Ame ninja ransacked his house looking fro valuable items. With nothing appealing to them they turned their eyes on Gajeels mother. Victor tried to fend them off but received a life threatening injury that resulted in gajeel covering his body in a armor, to hide the hideous scars. Gajeel traveled all around the ninja world, including ame to get his revenge. While in Ame, Gajeel, put his revenge to one side, and focused on increasing his power.

Earth
Having Mastered Earth, Gajeel can perform all Earth jutsu's with a single handseal.
Fire
Having Mastered Fire Release, Gajeel can perform fire jutsus slightly faster than the average ninja's.
Hidden Mist Perception
Being born in Kirigakure, Gajeel is very used to the formidable mist. Being able to see more clearly in it than most opponents.
Silent Killing
Gajeel can move through the mist without making a slight hint as to where his location may be.
Weapons
Gajeel carries around a large number of ninja tools consisting of smoke bombs, seals, scrolls, kunai, shruiken etc. Gajeel utilizes them to the maximum when in battle. Gajeel also carries a dual katanas and a foldable fan on his back. For extra protection, Gajeel always wears a gas mask with an eye shield that blocks out concentrated light which protects him from sudden flashes and gases. Gajeel has been know to always come into battle prepared.
Mandalorian Armor
Gajeel wears his well made suit when in battle. His suit allows him to fully utilize the clans abilites.
