I've always thought that every form of Sharingan after base has been overkill. So I guess I was satisfied with Tobirama's explanation.
No person with good motives would desire such power at such costs. So I doubt that a fully satisfied Uchiha would even want such power. I've generally thought of the MS and EMS like big juicy steaks dangled in front of a hungry kitty just to see how far it's willing to go to sate itself.
With MS, you trade your own eyesight for power and with EMS you have to kill your kin to obtain light again. They're like tests to see how far an Uchiha is willing to go for power.
I guess that's why the Uchiha are called cursed.
Their whole lives seem to be a test.
They love, they lose said love and obtain MS. Then they start losing their eyesight and are forced to harm their own blood to become strong again. When you think of it like that, it seems pretty sad.
I would agree to this.
First it seemed a rather morbid process of the individual selfishness being in focus, but now the fact that it's part of their inherent powers, nothing they can really decide on...
I mean, just how many Uchihas knew this to begin with?
For Sasuke, he was all about obtaining greater power in order to kill Itachi, but he refrained from killing Naruto at the end of part one to get the MS. And while getting the mangekyou was, to Sasuke, a way to become more powerful, he choose still another way.
Would this make him less of a villain?
I'm not sure, and I'm not one to consider this very often, but he did hurt Karin with the intent to kill, and others he did kill.
I don't think it's probably for him to be one to break their curse, unless he really does understand eniterly what it is he's done, no, that's not enough IMO:
If there are still any Uchihas after the conclusion of the war and if Jiraya's vision about peace among the shinobi does come true, then I don't think we could credit the breaking of any curse to the any of the Uchihas alone. Everyone lives in the same world and their acting and decisions affects other's lives and so on. All would have to get better.
