Also, with the new chapter we learned that the sharingan comes from a mutation of chakra in the nervous system (brain)...this chakra could be negatively affecting the eyes as a result, or could be the cause of the clot (the chakra could have a condensed sense of pressure as Dr. Proof mentioned)
