Sasuke's redemption

I believe that Sasuke will turn good at the end, or at least not want to destroy Konoha. Whether or not you think it should happen, it still will happen. It is a gradual process, because Kishimoto is smart enough to not make Naruto TNJ him instantly like with Zabuza, Gaara, and Nagato. It is a many stepped process which started with Sasuke fighting together with Itachi. The second step is Sasuke talking to the Hokage. Obviously, as stated in the manga already, the final step will be Sasuke's fight with Naruto. There may be more steps in between, for example Sasuke may help the alliance in the war.

Perhaps, but as I've explained, Kishimoto is setting it up for Sasuke to become good, so if he dies, he won't die evil.

It could go either way. I prefer redemption after all the suffering the Uchiha have endured with their curse, but peace in death might be the only way to end it.
