Hidan has a lovably stupid personality...he wants nothing more than to kill for his religion (almost ironic), and in doing so he falls for or misses the obvious!

Obito was an absolutely amazing character until he fell to darkness. He has killed off half of the world's shinobi just to bring back Rin. His justification for doing so is because he can make false images of them once he completes his plan.

If Obito had truly stuck to his awesome self he would have taken the Rinnegan and used Rinne Tensei to bring back Rin. Not this elaborate plan that kills off so many people for just a ghost of her. Now, the way he did it back when Akatsuki was just taking jinjuriki was a smart and far fairer way to do it (not taking needles lives), but when he decided that war was a faster way to go...and war for this reason alone, is just childish :/.

I don't even like the concept of hidan, he is the only person in naruto that i see kills for no reason, who kills because he actually enjoys it, other then to fill his own delusional need to some "god" that he thinks exists. (there may have been others, but i can't think of any at this time.)

Even Kakuzu only killed for money, not because he found it enjoyable.

Well since he's doing all of this because of a misguided philosophy of saving the world to satisfy his messianic delusions he doesn't seem that bad which makes him a half-blood villain, the malicious intent is what sets Hidan and Him apart.

Hidan wasn't a main character and didn't have a big influence in the plot.He was a funny psychotic mofo.Nothing more nothing less.
Obito on the other hand made a full turn from the loving and caring boy who gave up his life for his friends to a hatefull avenger who wants to restore the reality which with he can't cope with a dream world.Kakashi and Naruto had many misfortunes in their lifes and went through much pain but never gave up.
Obito is mentaly weak.Most people don't like that.Hidan was a psycho.Most people don't have a problem with that.

He gave up his life and his eye with the hope that his comrades would be protected with that eye. Kakashi even gave him his word. He suffered through countless days of pain during his rehabilitation all the while thinking only of his team and getting back to them. Rushes out to help them one day and finds his comrades killing each other in front of his own eyes. Do you not comprehend the magnitude of that? Of course he couldn't accept such a world!
