Sakura is more fodder, rin is basically the reason why all this bad stuff is happening in the ninja world.
Rin's death is the cause of the 4th ninja war, minato and kushina's death which lead to Naruto's live to be miserable and a lot more stuff. So yeah sakura is more fodder, sakura is like goku's wife if she dies then it won't affect the plot at all.
