To be honest, though I think the current war will be the peak of the anime, I'm almost certain we will see a few more good battles once it's officially over. There may even be another time skip before the manga ends containing only a few chapters. My reasons are simple:
Similar the Madara's and the 1st Hokages battle, Naruto and Sasuke's final fight will more likely take place after the war is fully over and their battle will simply be to see who truly is the better shinobi. It may even end like the ending of S.Cry.ed in which we're givin a great fight, but there is only a minor hint to who the winner is. Or an ending similar to Code Geass that basically verifys the outcome of an event.
Also, because of the length of the manga, Kishi will likely give us an ending that takes place on how things are in the far future. Who's married to who, did the villages remain united, who are the new Kage's of these villages and so on.
Another important factor is Konohamaru. Though originally he may have been used as a support character, there has been a large focus on him and his development throughout the series. His moments were short, but highly impacting. Being the 3rd's grandson and one of the only well know members of the Sarutobi clan. Learning the rasengan from naruto and actually defeating a Pain using it. The only person other than naruto claiming he will be Hokage. And the fact that he is basically Naruto's pupil makes me wonder what his future will be and what future role he will play during the closing of the manga.
