Itachi is an honorable mention, but I wouldn't really dub him patriotic as he killed his own clan, left and became a high class criminal by his village. He did what he needed to do to though to maintain the most peace possible while not even getting an ounce of credit for any of it.

thats whats special about his case. he didnt even care if he got an ounce of credit for his deed, all he cared about was the village, at the expense of his reputation, lives of his family, his clan, and his little brother
