Is the War Arc Really That Bad?

I just don't understand why fans are saying that the war arc is one of the worst arcs in the entire series, that's a complete lie. I mean, there were some great action packed moments throughout 2012 and yet fans are still not satisfied with the war arc as a hole? I don't get it, this arc has a lot of good things going for it so far, and it's only going to get even better throughout the rest of 2013.

Like last chapter, we just got the return of the previous hokage, what more could you guys possibly ask for, and the Juubi still hasn't entered its final transformation so you already that ****s about to get real. So as the war arc continues throughout the rest of 2013, I think as we should just be patient a give Kishi a chance to make this arc even that much better.

Also, you know what I find interesting, while fans are saying that the war arc sucks, they're extremely excited for the release of Naruto Storm 3, the game that revolves around the very same arc that fans are complaining about. Does that make any sense to you guys?

In my opinion, the war arc is a really good arc but I will admit that it could've been better.

In a whole I can't say whether the War arc is good or bad.
In my opinion, I hate it. I don't care if it's war or not, dragging it out lead it to become so bland that Oro had to get me interested in it again.

I personally think its pretty bad, far below the level of many of the previous arcs. Fights against big name opponents like the Akatsuki are extremely short. That is one of the most annoying parts. Each fight against a big name character in the past used to be meaningful and lasted a long time with lots of strategy and emotion. Now they just duke it out and move on. Also, no one can seem to hold their own until Naruto comes and rescue them. Why can't Neji or Lee have gotten a nice emotional one on one fight vs a strong opponent? Why is no one allowed to be developed? The only one who have done something besides Naruto are Choji and Gaara. But the fights suck. These Edo Dojutsu/Senju DNA/Jinchuuriki guys have trolled the entire war.

No offense to anyone but i believe its people getting pissed because Kishi doesn't show enough of Sasuke in this arc. and the NaruSaku fans getting mad because Hinata has jumped in front of her with Naruto and of course Neji's death

Why the pain arc is not my favorite:
It has talking toads which play a major role in the plot, so I can't take it seriously.
Konohamaru was in it.
Nagato ruined it by turning good and bringing everyone back to life.

I like it definitely not one of the best arcs and it could have been more better but I still like it.
Alot of major things happened and I really can't wait to see the Kage's join the war ( Or at least I hope that happens ).

I thought it has been pretty cool so far The Giant Bijuu battle, All the reanimation fights, the shinobi alliance being formed, Naruto vs kurama and taking control of the chakra and finally becoming friends with Kurama. Madara coming forth, wiping out the kages, and freeing himself from edo tensei, tobi revealing himself to be obito, the ten tails, 4 hokages being brougt back so much has happened! How can you find it boring? Yeah there's going to be some boring chaptors, and filler episodes in the anime, but I think it's been very interesting.

Why some people may not like it?

Battles have turned into all out destruction and kind of turned away from the whole strategic ninja battles like the one with kakashi vs Zabuza back in Naruto. (One of my favorite fights, either that or the one where Lee gets drunk and goes after Kimimaro)

Right now im excited to see what Sasuke asks the Hokages. However, orochimaru has control of them, who knows what he'll do? Will he barter their answers for Sasuke's body? Remember when Oro first came back, he said something about still wanting Sasuke's body, but not being strong enough to di it ....yet. So many things can still happen.

personally, i'm hoping Oro brings back jiraiya, if anyone has the J-man's DNA, it would be Oro. I can always hope, but alas, it probably wont come i mean come on, the Hokages all got brought back, so there's a possibility of the J-man being alive again...well kinda? Edo tensei Jiraiya, I'LL TAKE IT!!!

I wouldn't say its crap but very disappointed at the same time. Those are pros that you listed and I can post cons, which might be a bigger list.

No it is not. The biggest problem is that many of the battles were cut short or not seen.

Kakuzu was entirely defeated off panel, he was also averagely attacked by Izumo and Kotetsu: people he foddered not so long in the past.

Hizashi's entire fight with his brother Hiashi is off panel.

Kimmimaru's fighting is all off panel

Chiyo's fighting is all off panel

Kishi didn't let Hanzo live up to his power (solo'd the Sannin)

There was absolutely no real fighting seen by the Second Division (Hinata, Neji, Kurotsuchi [the cement style Iwagakure chick], and Kauri......with some help from the fifth division via Kiba and Shino) and the Fifth Division (Mifune and the Samurai in the forest against Kimmimaru and Chiyo).

Other than that it was honestly awesome!

the last battle is becoming a bit too long , naruto+bee vs tobi -> naruto+bee+gai+kakashi vs tobi-> POWERUP , naruto+bee+kakashi+gai vs the bijuu jinchuriki(tobi just sits there)->naruto+bee+gai+kakashi vs tobi+madara , naruto+bee+gai+kakashi vs tobi vs tobi+madara+juubi stage 1 ->shinobi world vs tobi+madara+juubi stage 1->shinobi world vs tobi+madara+juubi stage 2 , and there are bound to be the 4 hokage, stages up to the final stage , maybe sasuke and orochimaru , this ONE BATTLE will probably go to ch 650 or so... ALMOST one 6th! of the manga's length so far , the battle is dragging on , but before that it was brilliant! , it still is with all these epic powers , but kishi needs to cut down on timing.
