What is the difference between Chakra and the Soul in the NV?

There seems to be some odd connection between chakra and consciousness or soul in the NV. I'm confused about where to draw the line between the two of them and how they effect each other.

Some examples of what I'm talking about:

1. Hiruzen sealed the part of Oro's soul which was in his arms which prevented him from performing ninjutsu.
- I honestly think this is the most confusing example. We know that chakra can be sealed, but the business of sealing souls seems pretty confusing me.

2. Kurama (bijuu in general) is/are a mass of chakra with a consciousness.

3. Minato sealed some of his chakra into Naruto's seal which allowed him to remain conscious inside of Naruto despite having his soul taken by the Shinigami....
- How can your consciousness remain without a soul...

4. Even though Orochimaru died, his consciousness was able to remain through the chakra he had in Sasuke and Anko's curse seal. Sasuke's Oro consciousness was sealed, Anko's resurrected.
- So at one point Oro had two consciousnesses around at the same time... This is a metaphysical nightmare.

5. How did the RDS take the soul part of Oro's arms? I thought the soul was required of the user in order to perform a high level sealing tech... But you seal chakra... So how does Hiruzen steal part of Oro's soul... It still makes no sense to me.

So is there a difference between the soul and consciousness in NV? Is chakra what is needed for conscious thought? If so then what does the soul even do in NV? Minato's example clearly shows that no soul is required for chakra or consciousness....

Actually if I understand right Chakra (Energy) is the same as Spirit (Soul) from Buddhism believes? Or something like that? I'm probably wrong but there are some that believes that there is no Soul it's more likely Chakra/Energy.

Minato sealed Physical Chakra.
Hiruzen sealed Spiritual Chakra.

And two I think all dormant (sub-)consciousness from Oro still had one soul. As he is resurrected, all of these points of consciousness became one again... but maybe he had something like Pain's shared field of vision...

And both soul and chakra aparently can hold memories. The difference is that a soul is sent to the afterlife, or to be sealed, and to make it even stranger, the soul can be brought back through chakra. Or maybe Oro was soulless to begin with

And yes. In Buddhism there is nothing self-dependent, therefor no God(though there are godly realms with "gods"), no soul. Everything arises from something else(is empty). There is nothing permanent, and all is ever changing.

It's his manga, so let him be. At least we get something. If you don't like it then stop reading, I'm just saying leave Kishi alone like he has done a lot. He has made a great anime and manga out of Naruto. Maybe he just wants to finish it and do something new or just retire.

I would guess that Oro's soul must have either been split or encompassed both of them... But then again his chakra was in Kabuto too... so did his consciousness reside in him as well?

So could Minato have been resurrected the way Oro was? Or did his lack of soul prevent that from being an option? If that is the only reason, then perhaps Kushina could have been resurrected... o.o

Chakra is energy within the body that keeps it running. The soul is the life force that governs a persons being.

Like yin/yang, where chakra is physical and the soul is spiritual.

This is just my take on it.

Oro probably split up his Spiritual chakra, meanwhile Minato split his Physical chakra.

If presented a body, and flesh like Juugo's to transfer the chakra to bind the soul.. I'd say yes..

First of all Chakra is the mixture of Spritual energy and physical stamina, while soul is as u know is basically the software of the body (the best comparison i came up with, sorry).... since spiritual power comes from the soul/personality so basically soul is a contributor to chakra too..... yes its confusing but so is the Christian difference between spirit and soul.

Second the Kurama is an Artificial being.... he is chakra in a physical form, so basically Chakra is his flesh and his flesh Chakra.

Third, due translation or mistranslation whatever chakra is never in the hands alone its through out the body (Byakugan vision) but hands which are used while performing Jutsu are greatly necessary for a successful performance...... Hiru meant to take way Oro's ability to perform jutsu so he sealed the hands . . . . plus Orochimaru did some weird **** like soul transfer, snake tongue etc he has been meddling with mystical powers so he naturally might have understood such difficult concepts and bent them to his favor. Also Kabuto absorbed orochimaru's physical remains (physical stamina is part of chakra too) which in turn consumed him but had no conciousness but the properties of Orochimaru's unique chakra but he still needed Anko who had Oro's chakra sealed in her to strengthen the Edo Tensei .

When Naruto and Kakashi each created one clone, then go deep into the trees...
Which one is the clone or actual body itself, some ninja wont know.
As in the chapter, Orochimaru gain more knowledge.
He is also being immortal.

Bijuu chakra is from Ten-Tailed-Beast' Chakra.
SO6P created the 9 'shell' from his mind, and each shell are indicate by the number of tails.
SO6P then extract the Chakra from Ten-Tailed beasts into the 9 'shell' bijuu.
Then the Jinchuriki are the host of these 9 'shell' bijuu.
The bijuu also can took over the host.
Just what most movies, some demon (like bijuu are also demon) need to have the host;
then these bijuu can also take over the host....
