Then someone please tell me if no body was ever found how do they know it was suicide by drowning and in which river??? Are people that stupid. Just because kabuto couldn't find a body does not mean the uchiha did not find it and destroy it. How bad would it be if someone grave robbed him and took his eyes? Or for word to get out that their most prominent genjutsu user had his eyes snatches out?? Common sense people...

Itachi said he faked his death. So how could he fake it if they saw him right there drowned?

Anime which is not done by kishi said he faked it. The manga Says he gave itachi the eye and asked him to conceal ITS existence and died silently.

I just read more on his page. Itachi said he killed him and faked his suicide note but later revealed Shisui asked him to protect the Uchiha name and then died, so it might imply he killed him by request. The truth is still anyone's guess.

That's what I'm reading, too. It sounds like a planned removal but did Itachi help him or did he pretend to die and then disappear? It's written in a confusing way, but to me it sounds like Itachi did the erasing.

You love theories right? Which makes more sense? They just assumed sense he didn't show up at the meeting that he drowned himself in by he river??? Or that they recovered his body, an kept it hushhush so word didn't get out that the clans most prominent genjutsu user had his eyes yanked out?? The Uchiha were a very proud people who cared a lot about power and reputation dont you think the shame of people finding that out would be just enough to destroy the body so no one ever grave robbed him or maybe they suspected Danzo was up to something and would be after his body as well??

very possible..I just fint it odd to have a character of his visual prowess be metioned so many times but we never get to see the truth about or get any backstory besides a line or two...but hey that what keeps us coming here and talking about it...also the reason why those kinds of threads are fun

Depending on how much of the manga is left and what Sasuke finds out from the Hokages, maybe there is a reason Kishimoto has left Shisui a mystery.

No, the anime just brought up a thought so then I did a little thinking and researching and came up with a theory...i'm saying when Kishi is telling us someone is dead he may or may not be telling us the truth...you have to admit that there is a lot of mystery surroundign Shisui's death/desapearance...all im saying is that in my head there is a slight possability that he is still roaming around somewhere thats all...if you think diff than fine to each his/her own
