Wouldn't it be pointless?

Don't you think the whole alliance and the war and Neji's sacrifice would all be pointless if the Hokage joined the battlefield and won the war for them. I really think the Hokage won't join the battlefield.

You talk as if they could take the Juubi singlehandedly...even if they join the battle (which I think they will), it doesn't mean it's instant win...far from it.

No, Neji sacrificed himself to gain time for Naruto. If the Hokages joined the battlefield, they would pwn so much and maybe revive Neji.

Besides Naruto fighting alongside Minato? HELL YES

I doubt they join the battle but maybe their message will effect the outcome of the war, even when it's just given to Sasuke.

Minato has unlimited chakra, which means he can teleport the Juubi into the ocean to drown it, or into a volcano

Dont you think it would be pointless to summon them and not have them fight

That. It can't be said enough times.

You also have to include the decision Sasuke wants to make. At this point, would he keep his goal of destroying Konoha, meaning, attacking a pretty much defenseless village? OR, would he (for one reason or the other) join the big fight for the world?

But why would Orochimaru, who controls them, have them help in the war?

We don't know. Maybe because he isn't that bad of a person most people think of him. Or simply because he is going to go where Sasuke wants to, as he did with the ones who know everything...

My feelings on this is becoming very conflicted. I was settled on the idea that no one would be revived after the war, but after chapter 618 it seems that the most obvious and likely predictions are the ones coming true.

I can't see the Hokages joining the battle, but chances of the Kages saving the day seems the most likely.
