4th Hokage Edo Tensei

When Orochimaru faced the third Hokage one of he's attempted edo tensei's didn't work. Everyone presumes it was the fourth:

If it was the fourth why do you think the third coffin didn't work the first the time whereas now Orochimaru is able to summon the fourth?

because orochimaru first releaed his soul from the death god, then used edo tensei. minato couldnt be summoned due to not being in the pure world at the time, and oro didnt know about rds

no the 3rd didn't stop the the 3rd coffin, he just thought that he did so, buyt it was because of the shiki fujin

Simply put, a soul that has been sealed by te reaper death seal (either the target or the user) cannot be summoned by edo tensei because the jutsu requires the soul to be in the afterlife and not trapped within the reaper. Thats why Kabuto couldn't revive the 1st and 2nd even though Orochimaru could against the 3rd. This was all explained in the show so why you don't know this general knowledge is alien to me.

It was Madara. The 3rd obviously knew the 4th was sealed. Kabuto had access to and was able to summon Madara, Oro probably originally had Madara as his summon.

4th was sealed inside the death reaper's belly....besides....i dont think there's proof that oro was trying to summon minato....it could have been anybody....madara,izuna,shishui,etc etc.

this dude, oro didnt know about rds and couldnt undo it. when he first saw it he was shocked how powerful it was and needed his arms back.

Cause he didn't have that mask on to bring the 4th out of the shinigami seal, pretty simple isn't it? And it was the 4th, this is confirmed several times in manga and databooks.

Oro/Kabuto had Madara DNA, Kabuto edo tensei'd him...

Why are ppl saying oro summoned the fourth. Ithink it was somebody else, maybe Madara, and Hiruzen stopped it. He knew he cudnt summon the fourth by just simple edo tensei. Kabuto confirmed that. Thus in order to summon ppl from rds, u need the mask.
