Let's say we have two people, the only two people in all the world, and one of them is color blind. Now let's imagine that they're arguing over the color of something, one says it's red and the other says it's blue. Both think they're right, both are technically right because that's what they see, but one of them is wrong. It's almost impossible to figure out which one, that's the mystery.

I want you to think about what it might be, the tell tale sign of who is wrong. No matter what they do, this person is always going to be wrong, even if they're right.

Think about it, then open the spoiler. ^_^

The one who's wrong is the one that got angry and escalated the debate into an argument. That person is always wrong no matter what they say or do in defense.

Now, in order to resolve a debate properly is to either convince the other one that you're right, or at least come to a mutual understanding and respect for the other side. To both sides it will always be either blue or red, but they don't have beef with the other side. The best way to do this is to imagine what it would be like if it were that way and try to see it from their point of view. This can only be achieved through long, friendly debating; but all too often one party gets angry and they immediately lose...whether they're aware of it or not...no one wants to side with them now.

Good tip. There are quite a few people on here that could use this tip. Just an fyi though, most color blind people would be arguing between the colors green and red. The most common color blind is not being able to see red and that it is green instead. Or is it the opposite...XD

So very true. ^_^

Ah, I didn't really bother to look it up, but I'm sure cases of both exist.

The most common is red/green colorblind. The two appear to be the same color (which color they perceive is entirely subjective and cannot be communicated through known means).

*ahem* It's not the point of the thread, gentlemen. ^_^
But it is.

Tell me... what does the color "Red" look like?

The only way you can tell someone what the color "Red" looks like is to point at it. So how do you know it is really red to them? It could look like blue (and blue look like red).

Which is relevant to the whole subjective nature of disagreements that cannot be resolved.

Great comeback, and you're absolutely right. Very important actually, one must realize that their reality is subject to what they've been told. You can't just look at one side of the mountain, you need a helicopter so you can see what's really going on. xd
