Sasuke's Death: Hero or Villain?

Sasuke has been through a lot. He's felt enormous amounts of pain for lost loved ones. However, he handled his pain wrong. He chose the path of vengeance as means to cope with his issues and pain. He has been selfish in that he has stopped at nothing to gain power all to make himself feel better about what has happened to him. I sympathize with him, and am sorry he has had to go through so much. However, his circumstances don't justify his actions. Despite all that, I want Sasuke to die a hero. With the pain he's gone through, he deserves that much despite his actions. I'm not saying it is likely to happen. Though, I sincerely hope at the end of the day he realizes his errors and somehow tries to right his wrongs. How do you feel about Sasuke? Do you want him to die a hero or a villain?

P.S. No flame wars please. People might have a different opinion than you, so respect that. Keep criticism and argument constructive, and let's make this a good thread.

I don't want the end to be overly happy and cute, but Sasuke should either live or die as a hero.

OT: I Believe he will die a Villain. Because Naruto said that if they ever fight each other again, they will both die together. And I highly doubt that Sasuke will turn to the Good side again. :|

I'm not sure here I'd like to think he'd die a hero but unless there's another villain that threatens the world I don't see how I do wonder though what Orochimaru will do.

If he dies a hero it will be one of those deaths where he and Naruto had their final battle and Naruto was able to beat sense into him and they unite to fight another antagonist.

However realistically I doubt it as Edo Madara and Obito seem to be the final villains and if he dies after he will die a villain.

Im fine with him having a change of heart but he has to make the choice for himself (and this ostensibly seems to be the direction of the manga given the TOWKE subplot), he has to redeem himself, not get fckin tnj'd (which would ruin his character imo) and he probably will do so in death in the end. I dont see him dying as a villain given the themes/plot of the manga.

I think it can be good either way. If he does turn good this is how I want the story to go (copy+pasted so I don't have to retype):

Personally one of my favorite scenarios is that Sasuke becomes possessed by Orochimaru but is later defeated by Naruto and Sasuke gets his body back. He then actually defeats Naruto (he's pretty beat up though, he's only just conscious while Naruto is knocked out) but decides to spare him and sees the error of his ways. Later Naruto helps him return to the Leaf Village but he ends up banished. Sasuke accepts his role and promises to Naruto that he'll always protect the Leaf Village from the shadows. I guess for pairing wars sake Sakura can fake an attack on Naruto to get herself banished and live with Sasuke elsewhere while Naruto becomes the Alliance's leader. I don't want a overly happy ending to be honest

Or another scenario:

Sasuke is being compared to a hawk. Hawks seek knowledge, just like what he's doing right now. I hope that Sasuke gains even more insight than naruto and realizes the horrible truths to the world. Orochimaru will attempt to take over his body but again will fall towards Sasuke's power. Sasuke will then kill Sakura and force Naruto into a rage that he's convinced himself wouldn't happen again. Naruto ends up giving Sasuke a fatal blow and ends up killing him. Before that though, Sasuke tells Naruto that the world is a harsh place and he did what he did to show Naruto that sometimes, you can't put your stubbornness over what is best for everybody else.

I respectfully disagree with the second part. I wouldn't be able to say if he will die or not, but I don't think Naruto would die. This story isn't a tragedy, so I don't think the protagonist and favorite character in general would die.

I think Sasuke will be brought back in a body bag where he will be buried and forever remembered by Konoha.

Meh, Kishimoto has done greater unbelievable asspulls wrt to redemption, e.g. Kurama a tailed beast who supposedly is the physical embodiment of malevolence itself and who fckin killed Narutos parents suddenly becomes bff with him because Naruto promised to do something about "the hatred within him" or some bs like that.
