Yes it is, when using his paths he has to devote chakra to keeping them mobile etc, if he isn't using his paths he has a lot more chakra to use, thus being able to make shinra tensei a lot bigger / stronger

Well healthy nagato would be stronger than his path thats like if you split all your abilites up to 6 your strength speed etc would also be split.
so with only one body his own he can fully utilize the 6 paths to his full potential nagato is severely under rated sometimes tbh :/

your absolutely correct, absorbing just justus restore your chakra. When you absorb
chakra on contact like nagato did that is on beast level, you rejuvenate youreslf.
Basically revive your body parts that have been physical damage(appearence) but the
damage is done. He still cant walk because he died that way
