Lol, Lee has a long way to go before he's even close to Guy's level.

Guy wins low diff, he is basically an older/stronger/faster Rock Lee who can use more Gates and his Taijutsu is also better.

Rock Lee hasn't shown that he can surpass the 5th gate, therefore he definitely hasn't surpassed Gai yet.

I am pretty sure Lee knows how to open all the Gates since he was able to recognize Gai multiple times...Last time, now, seeing him all bleeded out, he even asked Gai if he used Hirudora.
It's just that, he didn't had time to use it, nor villains.
I bet somewhere around this war arc he will.

It's definitely plausible that he can open more then 5 gates. I mean, all of K11 except for maybe Kiba has gained some feats since part 1, it's extremely unfair that he hasn't shown much improvement yet considering his hard work ethic.

What also makes no sense is that we haven't seen him up to the speed he is capable of while wearing no weights. He can't possibly be wearing them during the war...c'mon kishi. :|
