Up through the 4th shinobi war arch at least, you know that gaara fights against the edo tensei version of his father. His fathers special ability was the magnet release just like the 3rd kazekage.
Kishi did a pretty good job of explaining how he used gold dust to subdue the Shukaku because the gold was denser than sand. There was even a background behind where he would have gotten this sand from. The hidden sand village was only able to keep their village afloat economically through the trade of gold sand.
Thats all very well and good and we can assume that he had a stache of gold sand handy for emergencies or whatever. What i do not understand is, how was he able to create gold sand out of nowhere in the latest episodes of the anime. If he had been summoned with a gourd full of gold on his back (much like gaara) just like other edo's had their weapons when they were summoned, i'd understand that, but he just pulls it out of the ground.
i may not be a geologist, but i'm like 99% sure that gold is not a typical component of desert sand. Even if there were minute traces, there certainly wouldn't be enough to make a giant wave of it. Am i missing something, or did kishi just overlook this?
