mid range = as far as u can projected the thing by throwing/lunging or pushing but in the range of vision

long range = remotely controlled object that can be manipulated thru chakra mostly can reached beyond ranhe of vision

In a matter of speaking, amaterasu is best suited for short and mid range for precision.

Ama uses the eyesight of the caster, therefore making it an ALL RANGE jutsu. Show me proof of ama only being able to use short range? because from what ive read ama can be short/mid or even long range

As I said earlier, it loses its effectiveness the greater the range because it slows down the more it travels.

But that doesnt make it a short-range jutsu it might be more effective at short range but its still able to be casted from a far distance. Ill give you an example, naruto's RS is also an all range jutsu because he can cast it like a normal rasengan or throw it at a distance (short range wouldnt be ideal as it damages ones self as well as the enemy. This is the same case for ama, long range ama would be weaker [from what we've seen] and short range would be stronger, making short range ideal but not only exclusive to).
