So… I finally started watching OP. :D
I rushed through the Alabasta Arc the last days but there are some things I didn’t understand.

Please forgive me: I didn't search for an answer through the already existing threads to prevent spoilers (probably people here watched/read this Arc a while ago)

1. How exactly was Luffy finally able to hit and beat Crocodile?
At their last fight in the tombs Luffy was about to die.
But at the end he got Berserk and just beat Crocodile out of the cave.
It seemed to me he got a sudden power-up.
Even the king and Crocodile himself wondered about it.
Is this related to the Devil Fruit? Does Luffy always get such a power when he is in a pinch?
Why did Crocodile not turn into sand as before or use his right hand?

2. Why did it suddenly start to rain when Crocodile fell down?
3. Probably connected to question 2: I still haven’t really get how Crocodile exactly manipulated the weather. He sent some sandstorms, okay. But how did this effect the rainfall?

If somebody explained about this I would be VERY happy. 
If possible please don’t spoil. I’m just at EP 130. ;)

Are you watching dubbed because they don't explain it in dub

1. First he covered himself in water (sand is weak to water) and then covered his hands and feet with blood.
He just remembered his nakama.Vivi's cauise ETC
Crocodile underestimated him.
2. As a symbol that it didn't rain because of Croc but now that he's defeated it'll rain.
3. It didn't.

1.Luffy does that. It's OP.His will to protect his friends,do whats right, his determination etc, etc, always gives him power to carry on.It's it's the Plot Plot devil fruit ;) It's been a long time since I 've seen this arc so maybe I am missing something but it's very common for the characters of OP to overdo it and win against somebody even when they are in the verge of exhaustion
2.That was a plot thing too.To enhance the atmosphere of the victory etc, etc.
3. He wasn't manipulating the weather,I think it has to do with that magic rain dust...

Oh fun questions. I'll see if I can answer correctly from the best of my knowledge. It's been awhile since I've watched that arc.

1. Luffy was able to beat Crocodile because of the blood that was pouring out of him and was dripping on his fists. If you watched the dub version the blood was probably edited so you didn't catch this. I always wondered that when I watched the 4kids version. Blood is made up of water so that was why his attacks hurt the croc.
He didn't get a powerup. This was through Luffy's pure determination to win. Everything was riding on him to win. If he lost, his goal to be pirate king would be lost as well as his goal to Vivi. We see Luffy go through this extreme again, but I won't spoil for you how, what happens, or why.
Crocodile probably thought he finished Luffy and didn't see the need because the cave would probably finish him off. The last attacks they did they went all out.

2. It started to rain because the marines captured the boats that were using the dust causing the drought. It was coincidence that it started to rain after he was beat. It didn't start raining right after he was beat too. events that happened: Croc beat->finding the bomb-> bomb going off -> vivi shouting -> then rain.

3. His DF manipulates the weather. His power was shown best in the desert where he has the best control. kinda like how Garaa has op techniques in the war because of their terrain also.

Hopefully this helped, I would imo go back and rewatch it or at least read it since it's faster.

^this
but i would like to add some info to the 3 question
crocodile did not control the weather ...but he made certain things that would affect it ....like sending a sand storm so that the oasis/spring will dry up and crocodile has the power to absorb moisture in air or anything that he touches with his hand so that also played its part for not raining

1. It's because Luffy's blood is liquid. Any liquid can solidify sand which in turn solidifies Crocodile, which is why he is very afraid of water.
2. Because the Dance Powder hasn't been used in quite some time.
3. The sandstorms were to cause chaos during the war, as Baroque Works had their own soldiers mixed in with the rebels and palace guards.

That being said, DON'T RUSH THROUGH ONE PIECE. IT IS NOT A RACE.

Everybody, thank you! :ice:

You are all very kind. :)

Also I checked again> I only watch SUBBED versions.

But I must admit I think I skipped ep 124 unintentionally!

Well, I have lots of stuff to do next to OP so I guess this can happen… :shy: :faust:

I suggest the blood thing was explained in the ep I missed. But this sounds logical to me.

But for the rain your answers differ... I will reread the Manga as soon as I have time and think about it again. :scorps:

Thanks and have a nice day, everybody! :b

1. Luffy is able to hit Crocodile by having water on his body/spitting it on Crocodile. In the final fight he uses his blood!

2. The rain symbolically represented that he was defeated....it also stopped the fighting as it basically never rains.

3. Well he can control sand with his devil fruit....probably a machine to control specific weather patterns in terms of rain....but he did not manipulate the rain at the end
