Both the villian and heroes in this movie have very well defined reasons for acting
You know how normally big bad guy needs to get defeated because he's bad and threatens everyone on earth
This movie has gohan as a hostage of garlic jr's men and that's why goku goes to fight garlic jr, There's a very clear defined personal reason for why goku needs to fight this guy other then just him being bad
And even there was no garlic jr kills his henchmen for no reason moment
Like in bojack unleashed or revival of f
And even then where other badguys would of just kidnapped gohan because there evil mahahaha
Garlic jr only got gohan cause he needed the dragon ball on his head and he wanted the dragon balls to wish for immortality
And you may say didt lord slug also do that some sorta thing with dragon balls
Yes he did but garlic jr did it for revenge as his father was banished by god and denied his position as guardian of earth so he wishes to kill kami
Lord slug just wanted to use the dragon balls so he can do evil stuff ig
