The Mirelands

Said to be the resting place of the Phantom Queen Morrígan of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the Mirelands are a region of Tírnan where sadness reigns supreme. The land itself cries in eternal sorrow, causing excessive rain to give rise to a peat wetland and mire-like bog. There are few safe places to stand within the Mirelands, as Tírnan itself seems intent on drowning any and all who enter this abysmal swamp. A rare occurrence but if one is lucky enough they may be guided by dancing lights known as will-o'-wisps. These curious but shy creatures are a type of Seelie who act as guides through the Mirelands, though none but the spirits themselves truly know where they are going. Safety? Death? Who could say really.

Deep within the Mirelands lies a run down shack said to contain a reclusive hag.

As a part of the Fae Domain of Tírnan, any and all attempts to perform Jutsu and techniques that seek to directly influence, alter or draw from the land are met with immediate failure. These include altering the environment with Earth, Water and similar Elemental Releases, as well as the gathering of Natural Energy, for Modes like Sage Mode and Dokkodo.

Previous post.
This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
- Scout potential threats (2).

Compared to some of the places Musashi had previously traveled in the Outer Lands, this was practically a breath of fresh air, with the relative lightness of the storm. This area of the island was rather unassuming, as Musashi could see the Titan river off in the distance.

This area offered a good view of the titanic storm that ranged, mostly on the other side of the island. There were smatterings of the same cedar trees that covered most of the rest of the continent, but not quite in the same thickness - nor were they absolutely destroyed like they had been in the Greater Stormlands.

This would be a good vantage point to observe the rest of the island, if the massive hurricane wasn't so unrelenting in its control of the landscape in front of you. She could see the rolling landscape from here, including the Foothold not far off in the distance, a now bustling city created as a bastion of modern civilization in these lands. She had, it seemed, been blinded by traversing into the thick Cedar Forest before anything else, and thus hadn't been able to get an eagle eyed view of the rest of the island.

She added this area to her map and notes. This particular stretch of land was, after all, unassuming. It could make for a good staging ground, but in all honesty there were probably better places for one to cross the river and move to the storm stricken portion of the Outer Lands.

This place wasn't as empty as various parts of the island had been: there was definitely wildlife about in the forest, nor did it have the feeling of a place displaced with forces of mysticism. There also didn't seem to be any of those ashen vines perturbing through the local flora. In a way, it was quite refreshing to see a stretch of land that was rather plain and in tune with nature, even if it was adjacent to a rather unnatural looking storm.

Satisfied with her evaluation of the area, Musashi gathered her things, one last thing catching her attention, before she aimed to return to the Foothold.

Leaving Landmark for the Grotesque Growth (277).

Coming From [x]

They made landfall. Alucard's sky island was of no further use and the rocks and sand that kept it together throughout the force of gravity was released, and instead they went on foot. They were close now and the enthralled Lucien could only obey his masters whims.
