The Knightswood

Compared to the shadowy depths of the former Canopy, and the jovial unwelcoming found in the former Foothold, the Knightswood is comparatively peaceful. Ancient forests give rise to rolling green hills as gentle winds brush passed. The region gets it's name from a Knight of Albion who fell to one of the Tuath Dé here, his body and armor impaled leaving him pinned to a tree. Though he died, and his body vanished, the armor remained, still and silent. It attracted the attention of a temperamental Fae. At first she demanded he repay her for the damage to her beloved tree and leave her domain, but not once did he respond. Initially she believed him to be rude, yet not once did he attack or insult her. Day after day she would try and get him to leave, but not once would he leave her side, nor respond in kind with an exasperated tone. Eventually she grew to see the Knight as a friend, then as her one true love, for only something as pure as true love could withstand such trials and the test of time like the Knight had. Now she blissfully tells him everything, unaware he is long gone. She believes he is simply a good listener, and eternally pines for his affection and attention.

As a part of the Fae Domain of Tírnan, any and all attempts to perform Jutsu and techniques that seek to directly influence, alter or draw from the land are met with immediate failure. These include altering the environment with Earth, Water and similar Elemental Releases, as well as the gathering of Natural Energy, for Modes like Sage Mode and Dokkodo.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
- Scout potential threats (3).

Musashi arrived from the strange distorted area, to another area that was unnerving in its own right. Ashy gray vines became thick in this portion of the forest, suffocating and filling what little space remained between the dense forestry.

It was already difficult enough to see and navigate through the forest, but the dense vines made it even more so. Musashi ended up drawing one of the blades she purchased from the Ronin in the Dark Tower, and was having to literally cut a path forward, as thick as it all was. She didn't know if it was a result from the distorted area she just left, this new portion of the forest, or even just this entire continent, but Musashi was still on edge.

It was like the forest was trying to swallow her, and attempting to navigate this place unprepared could easily lead to one become trapped, or ensnared.

She happened fairly quickly upon the corpse of what appeared to have at one point been a boar. Its flesh had long-since decayed, leaving only its ivory skeleton behind. Perhaps the most unnerving part was how it was suspended in the air - held aloft by the gray vines, which snaked through the spaces in its ribs, through the holes in its skull.

Was the creature trapped by its own rampaging thrashing, or did the forest reach out and grab it? Surely the latter wasn't the case, but Musashi couldn't quite be so sure, with what seemed like writhing forms always dancing at the edge of her vision.

Musashi coated her blade in ( Dokkōdō: Kakusu Shinjitsu ) - The Alone Way: Hidden Truths . It was probably an unnecessary precaution, but as she started to cut through the ashen vines, she was petrifying them - or at least attempting to do so, utilizing this powerful form of Kenjutsu. It would by her some room as she moved forward, and hoped that perhaps it would staunch the invasion of whatever these things were. Fire might be a good choice, but...she dare not chance it without a way to put out a blaze, for fear of igniting a forest fire.

Musashi's soul-sensing was going wild. She wasn't sure if it was just her unease putting her overly on edge, but it felt like there were small "pops" of things coming in and out of existence. She was thankful she had yet to detect any Oni, but that did not mean that other dangers might not be present.

The vibrant light cascaded off of Musashi's blade and lantern, and the combination of the two seemed sufficient for the swordswoman to cut a path. When she found a suitable clearing - truly, just an expanse that had been stuffed with the Stranglevines, as if muscles filling space in a skeletal structure, she loosed a shockwave, and watched as the vines petrified and shattered, leaving her a clean "table" of sorts to work with.

She placed the map on the "stone" pedestal she had created, and recorded her observations such far. The incredible density of the forest, and the danger posed by just the flora - it would be all too easy for inexperienced travelers to become restrained here, and without assistance, to possibly meet their end.

Musashi collected her things and lifted her lantern and sword, and continued trekking forward. It was becoming obvious that this continent was strange. These thick gray vines that seemed to almost be constricting upon any living thing they could, the strange fragmented realm she had previously ventured from...

Musashi would continue wandering, confident in her own ability, and to gather information for those who might eventually follow in her footsteps.

Coming from Forest of Echoes (274) | Anime Forum (animebase.me)

The Hyuga followed the tracks deeper into the forest. As he progressed further, the white vines became more prominent and took over most of the tree trunks. Sounds of tearing and crunching could be heard off in the distance in the direction of the tracks. Susabi took a few steps forward before accidentally stepping on a twig and the noises in front of him stopped. Amber eyes appeared behind the shrubbery that locked with Susabi's own. A light pressure filled the air as the beast behind the foliage stepped forward. A feline like creature appeared, but it was not natural in the slightest. It has dark skin with batwing like ears and a spiked tail.

Immediately, whispers were heard in Susabi's ears yet no one was next to him. As the entity came closer, the voices became louder and more agitated. Susabi slow took steps back while having one palm out in front of him. On closer examination of the beast, it had a piece of white bark in its mouth. So, it definitely feeds on it. Susabi said to himself. The creature continued to bite down on the bark before crushing it with his jaws. Suddenly, one of the vines that overtook the forest began to wrap around Susabi's body and constrict on it. The beast flinched in response, looked around and used this as its opportunity to run off into the distance and escape.

The vines tightened around Susabi's body trying to ensnare him in their grasp. The vines began to wrap around his throat in an attempt to choke the life out of him. He released chakra from every tenketsu in his body causing the vines to burst outward from around his body to loosen their grasp.

(Jūken: Ichigekimi) - Gentle Fist: One blow Body
Type: Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: A technique born from the Hyuga clan's intrinsic ability to expel chakra from every tenketsu on their body, a clan member can hit their opponent with a blast of chakra that will send them flying away from the user. It was also shown that this technique can be used with pin-point accuracy to target the weak point of a technique exemplified when Neji Hyūga was trapped by Kisame Hoshigaki's Water Prison Technique, and was able to dispel it.

They fell on the floor damaged before retreating. Susabi has to get out of here. Susabi said to himself before noticing something was off with the way how he spoke. What in the world? He sprinted in the direction that the beast ran. His curiosity was now peaked

Musashi gathered her bearings as the forest became thicker, and now overgrown with thick, ashen vines that permeated the area.

Knowing where she was, she adjusted course slightly - a more appropriate sanctuary to recover at would be further ahead, as she held her blade tightly in hand, in case any other threat showed itself.
