The kunai is really dense thus allowing it to penetrate through most defenses as well. At any point after the kunai is released, the user can choose to have the single kunai explode into hundreds of normal sized ones which would continue to move in the same direction, encompassing an area of 8m. The kunais, regardless of whether it is the larger kunai or the smaller ones will explode when the user weaves a single handseal. Upon exploding, they will release a lot of heat as well as a bright light, covering an area with a roughly 5m radius from the point at which they exploded. The light can lead to temporary blindness for the opponent if he sees it, whilst the heat can deliver first-degree burns.
