Thousands of years ago, the Yōengan were little more than ordinary apes inhabiting the forests and volcanic slopes of the region. This changed when the tribe encountered the Four-Tailed Bijū, Son Gokū. Rather than fear the great beast, the monkeys began to follow him and eventually came to worship Son Gokū as their deity. Over several millennia, generations of Yōganzaru lived in close proximity to Son Gokū and were continuously exposed to trace amounts of his immense chakra. This prolonged exposure gradually altered the tribe, granting them heightened intelligence and eventually true sentience. Their bodies also began to take on characteristics reminiscent of the Four-Tails, including increased muscle mass, red fur, and an exceptional tolerance for extreme heat. More significantly, traces of Son Gokū’s chakra gradually became intertwined with the chakra of the Yōganzaru themselves. Through this connection, the tribe inherited Son Gokū’s unique Molten Lava Release, while select members possessing particularly potent concentrations of his chakra became capable of exhibiting abilities comparable to those of pseudo-jinchūriki. In return for these blessings, the Yōganzaru became fiercely devoted to Son Gokū, worshipping the Four-Tails as their deity and carrying out what they perceive to be his will. Their loyalty to Son Gokū also extends to his Jinchūriki, whom the Yōganzaru recognize as the mortal vessel and companion of their deity. Despite their shared reverence for Son Gokū, the Yōengan have historically found themselves in frequent conflict with the human Kazan Tribe inhabiting the island. As a result, the tribe inherited Son Gokū’s unique form of molten Lava Release. The Yōganzaru are therefore capable of utilizing molten Lava Release and its component natures, Fire and Earth Release. [B]Heat Resistant Fur (Basic):[/B] Having adapted to both the volcanic landscape of Mauna Loa and their own use of Lava Release, the Yōganzaru possess thick, heat-resistant fur capable of protecting their bodies from extreme temperatures. This allows them to mitigate 20 damage from heat based attacks and elements such as, but not limited to Fire, Scorch, Lava and similar abilities. [B]Honed Body (Basic):[/B] The Yōganzaru are natural Taijutsu specialists who make extensive use of their immense ape musculature in combat. Their powerful bodies grant their Taijutsu techniques +20 damage. [B]Pseudo-Jinchūriki (Unique):[/B] While all Yōganzaru possess traces of Son Gokū’s chakra, select members of the tribe have inherited significantly greater concentrations of it. These individuals possess enough of the Four-Tails’ chakra to exhibit abilities similar to those of a pseudo-jinchūriki. They are capable of accessing the Chakra Shroud and Incomplete Transformation states as well as utilizing the general Tailed Beast skills granted through these transformations. Despite these similarities, the Yōganzaru do not possess Son Gokū himself or an actual Tailed Beast within their bodies.
