(Genjutsu: Kinpaku no Uso) — Illusionary Arts: The Gilded Lie: Type: Supplementary Rank: B Range: Short–Mid (up to 15 meters) Chakra: 20 Damage: N/A Description: Mariabell developed this illusion around a simple conceit: possession can survive in the mind after it has ended in reality. The user performs the Ram handseal and disrupts a single target's chakra flow, affecting their sight and sense of touch. At the time of casting, the target must be holding an ordinary kunai or shuriken that the user can directly see. One weapon and its holding hand are selected. If the target releases that weapon during the illusion, they continue to see and feel a phantom copy resting in the same hand, following that hand's movements. A fine gold seam traces the phantom's edge. Its apparent weight and contact reproduce those of the selected weapon before release. The target may consequently misjudge whether they still possess a usable weapon, but their response remains their own. The real weapon is released normally and remains visible wherever it travels or lands; this technique does not conceal its trajectory. The phantom has no physical substance, cannot damage or defend against anything, and is perceived only by the affected target. No other part of the target, caster or environment is altered. The illusion does not prevent movement, handseals, chakra use or independent sensing, and inflicts no mental damage. It can be dispelled through the normal methods of Genjutsu release. Notes: • Can be used three times per battle, with a two-turn cooldown between uses. • Lasts a maximum of two turns from casting, including the period before the weapon is released. It ends sooner if dispelled, cancelled or the target moves beyond 15 meters from the user. • The phantom disappears and the technique ends if the selected hand directly touches another solid object after releasing the weapon. • Affects one target and one ordinary kunai or shuriken per use; it cannot affect custom weapons, living entities or chakra constructs. • The user cannot cast another Genjutsu in the same turn. (Suiton: Gin no Shihai) — Water Release: Silver Dominion: Type: Defensive/Supplementary Rank: B Range: Short–Mid (up to 15 meters) Chakra: 20 (-5 per turn) Damage: N/A Description: The user performs the Tiger handseal and expels water onto the ground in front of them, shaping it into a freestanding, pleated screen. When fully extended, it is four meters wide, three meters tall and twenty centimeters thick. Its base remains fixed where it was formed. The silver appearance comes from its rippling folds and is cosmetic. The screen consists of two joined halves that can gather toward opposite ends of its fixed four-meter span, opening a central passage up to two meters wide. They can subsequently unfold to close that passage. Each opening or closing requires the Tiger handseal, costs 5 additional chakra and counts as a move. The folds travel visibly at the normal speed of a B-rank Water Release technique. They do not close instantly or respond automatically to incoming attacks. Gathering the folds redistributes the same water; it does not increase the screen's defensive strength. The extended sections oppose incoming attacks through ordinary Water Release interactions. The opening is a real gap through which either side may pass or attack. The water cannot distinguish allies from enemies, reflect techniques or hide attacks passing through the opening. It cannot leave its fixed span, pursue a target, form a prison, fire projectiles or be closed through an occupied passage to crush someone. The screen is one B-rank defense; its halves do not provide independent layers of full-strength defense. Damage sustained is retained when it changes shape, and destroyed sections cannot regenerate. Notes: • Can be used three times per battle, with a two-turn cooldown between uses. • Lasts up to three turns from creation, ending sooner if destroyed, cancelled or the user moves beyond 15 meters of it. • Only one screen can be active at a time; opening or closing it does not reset its duration. • The user cannot perform another Water Release technique in a turn when they create, open or close the screen. • Chakra values are the technique's standard costs before applicable biography specialties. (Doton: O no Toribun) — Earth Release: Sovereign's Due: Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary Rank: B Range: Short–Mid (up to 15 meters) Chakra: 20 (-5 per turn) Damage: 40 Description: The user performs the Boar handseal and places a hand on the ground, raising an earthen turnstile from a visible, unoccupied patch of natural earth within range. It has a fixed central post, thirty centimeters in radius, with three flat panels radiating from it at equal 120-degree intervals. Each panel extends one and a half meters from the post and is two meters tall and twenty centimeters thick. The entire swept area must be clear of people when it forms; it cannot emerge around or underneath a target. Once formed, the user may perform the Boar handseal again to rotate all three panels together around the vertical post by up to 120 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Each rotation costs 5 additional chakra and one move, and proceeds visibly at the normal speed of a B-rank Earth Release technique. It stops at the chosen angle rather than spinning continuously. This shifts the positions of the gaps and cover around the post; a panel can also strike someone who subsequently enters its swept area. An opponent can react, leave that area, pass over the panels or counter the moving earth normally. There is no surrounding outer wall to trap them inside. Only the raised panels rotate. The surrounding ground, people standing on it and the post's location do not move. The construct has no awareness, automatic trigger or attraction effect. Its panels cannot detach, extend, change shape or launch projectiles. All three form one B-rank construct with shared power and cumulative damage; a rotation inflicts at most 40 damage in total on a given target, regardless of how many panels contact them. Normal elemental interactions apply. Breaking its central post disables rotation; damaged parts cannot reform. Notes: • Can be used three times per battle, with a two-turn cooldown between uses. • Lasts up to three turns from creation, ending sooner if destroyed, cancelled or the user moves beyond 15 meters of it; the remaining earth then crumbles. • Only one turnstile can be active at a time, with at most one rotation per turn. Rotating it does not reset its duration. • The user must maintain contact with the ground during a rotation and cannot use another Earth Release technique in a turn when creating or rotating it.
