[/LIST] [hr][/hr] (Genjutsu/Onton: Kyōmei no Kurui) | Illusion/Sound Release: Resonance of Madness Type: Defensive/Supplementary Rank: A Range: Short Chakra: 30 Damage: N/A (60 spiritual damage) Description: When attacked, the user claps their hands together, releasing a soundwave shaped like an axe head. The front is sharp and thin, while the back flares out. This shape lets the soundwave split and redirect incoming techniques by creating a path through them, dispersing them to either side of the user. The technique works regardless of damage and size only when the wave faces the incoming technique directly along it's path of travel). At the same time, the sound of the clap triggers a genjutsu. The opponent sees the user clapping continuously. Each clap creates soundwaves that appear and hit them from various angles. In reality, the opponents stagger and thrash about, convinced they are being struck from all sides. This causes spiritual damage as their minds trick their bodies into believing the pain is real. [/LIST] [hr][/hr] (Onton: Itami no Hibiki) | Sound Release: Resonance of Pain Type: Supplementary Rank: D Range: Short Chakra: 10 Damage: 10 Description: A technique arises from the idea that the same source of pain can vary depending on where and how it is applied. When the user realizes they are caught in a Genjutsu, they make a specific sound, such as a snap, whistle, or sharp exhale. This sound creates a focused sound wave (of varying shapes) aimed at their own body. The sound wave instinctively targets and hits the most pain-sensitive area necessary to produce just the right amount of pain needed to escape the current rank of Genjutsu affecting them. The technique always inflicts exactly 10 damage to the user, regardless of the rank of the Genjutsu being disrupted. However, the pain experienced varies. A D-rank illusion will make the sound produce a minor discomfort by nicking the skin, while an S-rank illusion results in the sound traveling into the user's ear, for example, and bursting their eardrum, creating a sensation equivalent to what would be required to break out of such a genjutsu without taking the actual damage required for said level of genjutsu. Even in forbidden genjutsu, the sound would take a needle-like shape, for example, piercing the skin and making a direct nerve strike, thus creating the sensation needed to shock the user out of the illusion without the actual damage output it would need. The damage remains minimal, and the pain is always enough. Note: [LIST] [*]Although the user does not take the actual damage, they are not immune to the effects of the pain. A pierced eardrum is very painful and may cause them to loose focus in battle and will cause deafness. Or a direct nerve attack to the hand for example may cause them to not be able to use said hand for 2 turns due to the immense pain. [/LIST] [hr][/hr] (Genjutsu: Nijūsō no Meimaku)| Illusion: Dual Layer Purgatory Type: Supplementary Rank: S Range: Mid Chakra: 40 Damage: (60 only if second layer is activated.) Description: To use this layered genjutsu, the user performs three hand seals and tells the opponent that they are being put in a genjutsu. This announcement triggers the illusion. The first layer activates immediately after the user speaks. The opponent begins to see faint floating particles drifting across their vision, similar to the spots one sees with low iron or after standing up too quickly. A barely audible mosquito buzz fills their ears. A faint, unpleasant taste and smell creeps in. An irritating itch crawls across their skin. They feel as if a small pebble is stuck in their shoe. Each effect made to create a miserable discomfort that builds per turn. The particles multiply and speed across their vision, till they can barely see as their vision becomes obscured with spots moving chaotically. The buzzing grows louder, the smell worsens and so does the taste, the itch becomes more bothersome, and the pebble feels more distracting. This continues indefinitely, hoping to prompt the opponent to break free from the illusion. However, if they do try to escape using kai or any chakra surging method, it triggers the second layer of the illusion. The chakra from their attempt gets redirected inward, causing an illusion of complete sensory overload. Every sense fires at once: light becomes painful, sound grows deafening, touch feels burning, and even a light breeze feels like being scorched point blank by the sun. Their own heartbeat and breathing sounds become unbearable. In addition, they also feel like their chakra network is misfiring uncontrollably, surging through pathways like electricity. While this is all just an illusion, the perceived pain can be so intense that the opponent may lose consciousness entirely after two turns. In reality the opponent lays writhing on the ground, vulnerable to attacks. Notes: [LIST] [*]Can only be used twice. [*]Layer 1 has no turn limit. [*]Layer 2 lasts three turns. [*]Layer 2 only triggers when attempting to break Layer 1 with kai or chakra surging methods. Breaking out with pain cancels the entire illusion.
