well then this series would be called obito, not naruto...as you refer to him as the savior..... therefore this is kinda a bad prediction....we all know that naruto will be the one to save the world.

this is how i understood it... when tobi dematerializes he kinda send his body to another dimention and his spirit stays...so when kamui sent the kunai or the rasengan it hit tobi in that other dimension....O.o idk....check this review out i think it'll explain...
