I remember seeing Orochimaru with a rope-like thing around his waist and a tied in a bow behind him. Now I just recently saw some other Sound ninja with the same type of thing... Is this just a Sound ninja thing or what?

I looked up the symbol on Gaara's forehead, and found out he used his sand to scar the word "love" on his forehead. But given his past, why would he do something like that?
