Well, judging by the fact that Jiraiya killed Cerberus, and the Chameleon, and yet we saw them return later, I wouldn't be surprised of most of them were already dead.

Just something I started thinking about after seeing the last episode, why do you think Kabuto didn't revive the Sound Four ? I mean, he had their DNA, since he was able to insert it in himself, so why didn't he use it to bring them back ? Sure, they weren't as strong as most of his Edo's, but...
