Pein had no intent to kill,he needed naruto alive.Deva path didn't enter the fight until half of the paths were killed.Naruto had intel on pain's abilities.Pein managed to pin down naruto despite these handicaps.Deva path could've stabbed naruto when he pinned him down U_U

Plot>Anyone The only reason naruto or sasuke came alive out of those battles is plot.If not Nagato and Itachi would've roflstomped those kids.Actually SM Naruto and 3 tomoe sasuke were kage level at that point.Still pein and Itachi managed to completely outmanouver them. Even by akatsuki...
