Seriously..1st 50 episode of part 1, he was more badass than Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara combined. And then naruto "frees him" and part 2 comes and, while still awesome and a jonin, he was still underapreciated. He always had more natural potential than any of the konoha 12, including Sasuke...
