Something so mythical can have an infinite amount of explanations, reasons, speculation. Remember that the Juubi was basically a legend, therefore everything we heard about from all the characters in the manga are just ideas based on imagination and folklore. I think a big part of Obito's strenght comes from his senju DNA. Nevertheless, we know little of Obito's growth, but awakening the sharingan at a 2 tomoe state probably is enought to show Obito's natural talent. Having Madara as a mentor didn't hurt too.
