Naruto has grown so much from the first chapter..
Naruto has fought and defends Konoha when no one can..
He finished the edo army of Kabuto, includes a few of previous kages..
He still standing even fighting Madara + obito..
he already able to control Kurama ..
He can do Toad Sage Mode better than Jiraiya..
He has a multiple powerful Fuuton Jutsu - Rasen Shuriken, Wikusei Rasengan
He is the only one who can do large number of Kage bushin..
He able to defeat 5 of 6 pains..
He can use the beast bomb like rasengan..
He is the fastest shinobi alive..

So what level is he right now?

Naruto is beyond Kage level. He would defeat all 5 kages on a 1 on 1 low - mid difficulty. Heck, if he took on all 5 at once, there is a chance of him solo'ing through all, but realistically, he'd definately get through 3 or 4 of them.

naruto is the strongest ninja ever to live in the hidden leaf village. from the start of naruto he was always joking around but when he became ninja he starts to take his mission more focus and when he train with jiraiya to learn a new jutsus he was so focus on learning rasengan and he did it. after two and half years training with jiraiya he came back to hidden leaf and naruto became part of team 7 with his friends. naruto has fought so hard to protect his friend and the leaf village as he took on pain and won. he has learn so much jutsus and the time will come when naruto and saskue will fight to the end.

When he gained full control over the kyuubi and developed a partnership with it, he goes far beyond the current kage level. I think naruto is kage level on amount of chakra and power house abilities, but on the real dealing with death and casualities, he's far from Kage level. Kage is passed around without the thought of emotional and mental draining added to the equation. He's still a little immature and let's his emotions take to much place in his "end" result.
