This thread was made under the speculation of what is known, and what has been seen of Hiashi, and in the hopes of getting people to agree with the threads title. This is purely speculation on the basis that not much has been seen of Hiashi yet, so i'm going by what is currently known and building from there.

Reasons Hiashi is Kage material:

1) Head of Hyuga clan, who is currently (since there are currently no known Senju or Uchiha who belong to the leaf, except possibly Tsunade who is currently nearing death) the strongest clan in the leaf.

2) Has been seen holding his own against the Juubi itself.

3) Can easily exterminate fodder ninja with one techinique.

4) Various villages recognize the power of the Hyuga, and Hiashi is clearly the greatest among them.

5) Collectively taking all known data, is seen to display power, courage, and wisdom that is on the kage level.

What is Kage material?

What ill write down is debatable, but I think this would be it:

1) Master of Ninjutsu; Usually known to master many types of ninjutsu, including forbidden ones. Hiashi does not really display too much ninjutsu, but simply from knowing how Hyuga deal with mainly ninjutsu users, we can imply that Hiashi would hold his own against those who wield many powerful ninjutsu.

2) Smart/Wise; This is a given since Kage's are responsible for a whole village, and anyone who has done administrative work knows how difficult even a small group is.

3) Experienced; In many areas, not just war or fighting, but it is a prerequisite nonetheless.

4) Heart to protect village

5) Renown/Reputation; This is easily the best way to become a Kage.

6) Administrative skills

Yessir, Hiashi would wreck Gaara.
While I'm in full agreement that he is Kage level, he couldn't defeat gaara for the simple fact that even if he got through his sand barrier his attacks would have no effect on his sand armor. It is not that Gaara is stronger its just a poor matchup.

Actually the another point of this thread was to counteract the extreme view of Hiashi by stating it was mere speculation in order for people to actually listen to logic.

I've already seen all the Hiashi is kage level threads this was just another contribution towards an idea is all, so no I will not take any advice about the search bar, thank you very much.

What? Are you going based off the statement Hiashi said, to boost his own ego and prestige, or is this an assumption? Because we've only really seen two Hyuugas at best, Hinata and Neji, and if Neji was the strongest ninja ever, Hinata would damn sure counter-act his effect. So strongest clan is definitely something I wouldn't say with the utmost certainty.

Has been seen holding his own against the Juubi itself.
What?

Can easily exterminate fodder ninja with one techinique.
...I'm going to take this one as a joke?

Various villages recognize the power of the Hyuga, and Hiashi is clearly the greatest among them.
Like I said, we've seen two Hyuugas at best, you can't determine he's the best. inb4 "he is clan leader", clan leader is not equivalent to greatest. Was Fugaku the greatest Uchiha? I didn't think so.

Collectively taking all known data, is seen to display power, courage, and wisdom that is on the kage level.

Not Hiashi, he treated Hinata like scum simply because she wasn't a killing machine... Right, that sounds like a perfect candidate for Hokage.

I will only answer your two and only objections. I clearly stated that the senju and uchiha, known to be the strongest ever, are out of the way, and from what Kishi has showed us since the chuunin exams, the Hyuuga are something to be feared, even though other clans and villages were present.

I was speaking of the Hyuuga currently, and from what weve seen, especially the latest chapter, Hiashi is stronger than Neji, the one of two Hyuuga we have truly seen in action.

No, the Chuunin Exams showed us that Neji was something to be feared, not the Hyuuga clan in general. I'm pretty sure that Naruto, Rock Lee, Sasuke, and Gaara showed more of this "something to be feared" you speak of than Hinata. And it is definitely debatable that they showed more of this "something to be feared" than Neji: two jinchuurikis, some kid daring to use two kinjutsus, and an Uchiha, the Uchiha hype speaks for itself.

How can you draw that conclusion? We don't know if Neji was fatigued before hand or any other factors that came into play. Regardless, Hiashi being stronger than Neji means what?

Nuff said.

Also, I could say the same for Hiashi. And I said that going off of what you said, "Like I said, we've seen two Hyuugas at best, you can't determine he's the best."

Nuff said. So no, just no.

This tells us what? That Jyuuken is a pretty awesome technique, how does it refute any of which I have stated? The Chuunin Exams showed that Neji was awesome, and that Hinata was sub-par at best evident by her bout against Neji and the flashback of Hiashi calling her worthless. So like I said, we've seen two Hyuugas at best, 50% of awesomeness doesn't constitute for the whole clan.

And you can say the same for Hiashi, but him being stronger than Neji doesn't really help your purpose at all, which is what I pointed out in my latter statement.

How is he not stronger than Neji? And him being stronger than Neji proves that he is stronger than two of the only Hyuga weve truly seen in action which I said in my FIRST REPLY.

If he is stronger than Neji and Hinata, then we can say, FROM WHAT WEVE SEEN FROM HYUGA CLAN, that he is truly the strongest.

ALSO, read the VERY FIRST WORD of this Threads TITLE. [SPECULATION]. READ my first paragraph, can you not read?

Also, the fact that the Hyuga were a big deal to everyone alone proves that they were to be feared as a whole, just ask these guys;
