This is a thread regarding one of the most forgotten and lately less appreciated feats of certain types of characters when it comes to the ninja world: team work.
I am here to discuss nicely, not to hear whining/hating all over the place, so remember, please, any attempt of flaming, trolling or anything connected to that will be reported!

Anyone who says that the fight with Sasori was handled mostly by Chiyo needs some serious educating on the matter, and I am going to help provide it for you. While I will be touching on the teamwork aspect of this fight, it will mostly be about how Sakura helped Chiyo in this fight, and that without her, it couldn’t have been won.
Let’s get the bashing out of the way first. If you were expecting Sakura, a girl who has only had 2 and a half years of intense training, to go evenly up against an S-class criminal with 20+ years experience by herself, you need to reevaluate your perception of smart battle strategies. Also, think about remembering that this was early Shippuden, the golden age where team work was considered highly important.
But anyway, let’s lay it straight:
Sakura couldn’t have won without Chiyo, but likewise, Chiyo wouldn’t have been able to defeat Sasori without Sakura.
It’s arguable that Chiyo wouldn’t have made it past Hiruko. She explains to Sakura that the design of Hiruko was new to her, and that the shell on it’s back increased its defenses. The only way they were going to break Sasori out of there was with Sakura’s strength. If you’re going to be that person who argues that Sakura never would have been able to reach Sasori without Chiyo’s help, than I’m just going to counter by saying that Chiyo wouldn’t have even been able to break through the shell unless Sakura was involved. It all goes back to that little thing called team work.
After this, the fight continues between Sasori and Chiyo for a little while longer. This is entirely acceptable, considering that the two far outclass Sakura in terms of experience. It should be noted though that Sakura never is one to sit idly. When she’s trapped in the poisonous gas, she doesn’t just wait for Chiyo to come rescue her.
Sakura freed herself from the trap using a rather unorthodox method, showing just how far she was willing to go to not let herself be useless anymore. A little while after Sasori takes out the third Kazekage puppet, Chiyo and Sakura are in a very tight spot. The Father and Mother puppet are rendered virtually useless, and while Chiyo had more to use, the iron sand would have had the same effect on the joints of the puppets. So instead of, you know, being useless in the fight like many claim her to be, Sakura offers up herself as Chiyo’s puppet.
Chiyo even tells Sakura previously to run, that there was nothing else they could do in this situation. Clearly Sakura found a way around that problem. Her super strength combined with Chiyo’s experienced control would be the perfect opponent against Sasori’s Kazekage puppet and the iron sand technique, and it was very effective.
Now, before you lot get into an uproar about how Sakura is still virtually doing nothing by letting Chiyo control her, allow me to present to you probably one of the most overlooked aspects about this fight.
Look I even made it easier to decipher in case there was something hard to understand about it. But yes, I think this made it quite clear that Sakura is, above all else, a very intelligent girl to be able to see through such a persons attack pattern. And we all know that, due to her training as a medic, that dodging is very important. While Chiyo may be helping her a little bit, remember that she is doing it one armed, and it gets to the point where Chiyo even comments that Sakura doesn’t need the help. She can do this all on her own here.
Okay, so eventually we get to a point where Sasori unleashes the ultimate technique, and sand spikes begin to form and travel everywhere at blinding **** speeds. Chiyo is soon pinned down by a rock while Sakura is presumedly out of commission.
GOTCHA BITCH!
No but seriously. This was all Sakura right here. The reason why she isn’t out of commission is because of the antidote that she created earlier on when no one else was able to. Because of this antidote, it gave her the necessary opening to catch Sasori off of his guard. So without her ability to create antidotes, the fight would have been over right here. They would have both been completely screwed, but Sakura comes through yet again, destroying the kazekage puppet in one punch.
(It should also be noted here that Sasori completely acknowledges Sakura at this point, calling her a ‘brat to be reckoned with’. If the person Chiyo and Sakura are fighting considers Sakura to be a threat, than how in the hell could she have not been useful in this fight?)
So after Sakura heals Chiyo’s arm to the point where she can use it again, Sasori reveals himself to be a human puppet himself. The fight begins anew, and he almost catches Chiyo is a very tight spot until Sakura stops him herself. No help. Just her.
Sasori is completely broken apart, but quickly rearranges himself. He then lets out his 100 puppets. Chiyo tells Sakura once again to leave, and once again, Sakura refused. So the fight is on. We see Chiyo fighting. We see Sakura fighting. While we don’t see Sakura taking down quite as many puppets as Chiyo, this is merely because there is only one of her, and Chiyo has 10 puppets doing the work. You also have to consider that this is the first really huge puppet fight we have seen in the manga, so of course Kishimoto is going to capitalize on that by showing the puppets fight each other for a good chunk of the battle. But that doesn’t mean Sakura is sitting around being useless, how could she be? She would have surely died if she stayed stagnant with 100 puppets attacking her from all ends, so it’s pretty safe to assume that Sakura did her fair share of dodging and destroying as well. Common sense, or at least I thought it was.
So after a little while, Chiyo provides a seal to trap Sasori. Sakura does her part by being the one to throw it at Sasori, seeing as how Chiyo was busy providing Sakura with the opening.
Again, and I cannot stress this enough, teamwork is very important here. It doesn’t matter that Chiyo is the one to provide the jutsu, it doesn’t matter that Sakura is the one to throw out. Without either women, it would just not be possible for Sasori to be trapped beneath the seal.
So things are seemingly quiet as the battle is won, but Sasori transfered his body to another puppet at the last moment, going after Chiyo while the two women were off their guard. Sakura notices, and runs after them.
This is the result. Regardless if you still think Sakura has done nothing in this fight (she totally has though, so people should really stop being bashful already), that she would throw herself in front of someone she just met to save their life is incredibly selfless and brave. Not to mention, she saved Chiyo’s life, which would later allow Chiyo to ultimately make the finishing blow.
Now, it seems like because Chiyo is the one to finish Sasori off for good, then people seem to think of this as Chiyo’s win, and Chiyo’s win only. But look, at the end of the day, without Sakura’s assistance, Sasori would not have been brought down to the level that he was. That finishing move does NOT negate all the blood and sweat Sakura has spent in this fight.
Chiyo and Sakura won this fight due to their beautiful teamwork. I really wish people would see this battle as one where it was a team effort between two women who just met and formed one of the nicest relationships in the manga, rather than a fight that’s constantly judged on who provided most of the work.
And this should be applied to the newest cases as well.
Naruto didn't do everything himself, Kakashi didn't do everything himself, either Bee or Gai.
It was all team-work!
