I think it's really good for the story Tsunade dies and it should logically mean Kishi's going to focus more on Sakura. It would be very easy to move on to Sakura now and it would be strange if Kishi didn't and now he can simply get Sakura's character back into the light by
showing how she handles this situation. She hasn't been doing much in the war, it's true. But now with Sasuke supposedly invading Konoha for the final arc, the focus will be on Naruto and Sakura as well. The war
was a way to switch from the main characters for a while.

I agree with you in every single bit. The problem here is that I don't know how keen will Kishi be to develop her.
As we've seen, when it comes to female characters, no offence, but he sucks.
And he always "undevelopped" Sakura, if I may say so.
I mean, she has the strenght, the herbs, the poison handling and weapons handling, but what about the medical techniques? Kishi have her nothing like that.
Your right, but the thing about Sakura is that he started Shippuden the most developed besides Sasuke. Naruto had to be an underdog in his development to make Sasuke a beast. Sakura, however, came out to be the best female, if not second to hinata, in the k11. That shows how much Kishi planned for her. Then again, she has been receiving bad development recently, which finally got turned around when she took out the fake neji. Kishi has a hard time developing the females and he stated this, but f you look at tsunade personally, she has came out from a horrible gambler, into one of the best Kages ever. The problem people say concerning her is not valid because she has had to work the absolute hardest when it comes down to saving the village.

Problem is that Kishimoto-sensei tends to concentrate solely on Naruto and Sasuke while leaving Sakura in the cold. He actually admitted during an interview, when asked when we would see Sakura's background story, that he had completely forgotten about her. For being one of the three main characters, that's actually kind of sad.

But I think he tends to forget her because she doesn't have an impressive heritage like Naruto and Sasuke have. Naruto is not only the son of the Fourth Hokage, the main hero around who the story is concentrated on but also has a Bijuu locked in him while Sasuke is the heir of the Uchiha clan, famous for their Sharingan, and of which the bloodline gives ample opportunity to create more interesting and dangerous jutsus.

Compared to those two, what can Sakura speak of that would make her impressive? As far as I know, her parents are just regular village people. She is a student of Tsunade, has an impressive strength and has skills in healing but she doesn't have an impressive bloodline that leaves space for interesting jutsu's nor has a bijuu that could lend her strength or is a daughter of someone famous and skilled.

So it will be a challenge for Kishimoto-sensei to give her a power up, but I hope he gives her one, if only because it would be interesting to see which kind of power up she would get. (Damn, never thought I would ever write something like that O_O)
Well, yes, he tends to concentrate on the 2 of them and that is a shame, to be honest. Not just Sakura, but there are a lot of other characters in the Naruto manga.
And for God's Sake, that interview was in 2010, 2 years have passed since then and people really expressed the desire of Sakura having a power-up, to align her on the same pair with the 2 of them.
I agree that she doesn't have a lineage, but that's not an excuse to be honest. Look at Sarutobi clan, no special traits, yet Hiruzen was called the God of Shinobi. And giving power-ups is not that hard.
I mean, he has the base, Tsunade. He could make Sakura learn medical nin techniques as well as those damn genjutsu techniques that he hinted. Not to mention that TWICE he hinted that Sakura may get to be even more powerful than Tsunade. Why make those statements if you don't plan on doing such things.
He made Hiruzen, a non special lineage character have that power, and he cannot make Sakura at least a bit more powerful? He's been saying that he cannot handle with women personalities.
Well, to be honest, it's a bit of a bullshit to excuse himself forgetting about her or the women characters. Why do I say that? Because you don't have to look in personality traits, pshycology in order to invent some damn powers.
They are there, different than the personality. But oh well, that's Kishi.

And I have to admit it was quite funny to see you wishing such a thing, hehe! ^^

Like falling in love with a total nutjob that never returned her feelings and even tried to kill her? What I said wasn't meant to be sarcasm, that's what I think will happen - Sakura will be depressed and cry. And who knows maybe after that she would seek revenge...

Lol I can totally see that happening, Ino's dad will announce it on the "radio" and Sakura will charge headlong into perfect susanoo hehehe
People keep blaming her that she fell in love with Sasuke, but I never recall of people who were actually able to command the heart to stop loving. Many of them didn't even understand Sakura's role in the story besides being a member of Team 7, so that's why they keep using the same over-used reasons: she cries! Well was she the only shinobi in the Narutoverse that cried? No. I don't understand why they keep bashing over this thing. Some of them probably don't even know the rule no. 25 of the Shinobi world and what impact it had on that world.
And there was one more character that did that, but people never blamed him, probably because, indeed it hasn't been shown that much as Sakura.

Anyway, passing by that, she can be determined and I am very curious if Tsunade dies, to see her reaction in regards to that.

Well, Sakura being a part of Team 7 and Kishi making her state that she will get more powerful in order to protect those two kinda don't add to what he's done with her.
I agree, he gave her that strenght (she had it ever since the beginning, but now it went to monstrous levels), the ability to heal, dealing with poison and.. that's kinda it.
Not even a gram of offensive medical ninjutsu! Which should be done by basics, considering is just the chakra system that you mold it how you want it and send it into the opponents chakra system.

And Tsunade, well, I have to agree that he did great with Tsunade and to me, she is a great kage and female. Only that if you look at it, he always put Tsunade in Orochimaru and Jiraya's shadow. Look around you, people still think she's nothing compared to those two, which up to a certain point, it's not true.

And about Kishi developing female characters, well, as I said... It's not that hard to develop a technique and make that female character to use it. It has nothing to do with the personality.
I agree that the personality might be hard to portray, but jutsus are hard? Seriously? Why is it so hard to develop a jutsu and make that character the user of it?

I think it's really good for the story Tsunade dies and it should logically mean Kishi's going to focus more on Sakura. No, if Tsunade dies that doesn't assure us that Kishi is focusing on Sakura, unfortunately. He has always forgot about her, about the female characters of the series.
Although logically it would be for him to do so, he has no time to develop her if he wants to end the series plus, as we can see the war is not switched from the main characters, it has been the other way around.

Naruto mastering Bijuu mode, Sasuke getting EMS and remeeting Itachi and now he'll have the tides of the war and Sakura... well, Sakura nothing. Just in the backs, healing, no special feats shown.
I agree though, Ino-Shika-Chou has been featured in this war, although there are more characters in this show.
Anyway, Kishi in the end I think doens't give a damn, so yeah... :)

Her reaction will be similar to Naruto's when he knew that Jiraiya died. :( And i hope Sakura will get a power-up.
It is really curious to see if she will react the same way, if Tsunade dies, as we've seen their relationship is quite formal. But I would see Sakura suffering, although he hasn't shown that much emotions towards Tsunade. Yet, in Pein arc she was there by her side, holding her hand.

Power-up, well, I would like to see that, but as I've stated before, highly unlike to happen, considering Masashi Kishimoto. :)

True, he could have her learn the genjutsu, but then that would have to happen after the war, because learning it immediately during the war isn't very realistic (let's just forget for a sec that the whole story is unrealistic).
I can understand why he finds it difficult to write about female characters - I'm a fanfic writer and even I have trouble with portraying both genders right; the funny thing is that I prefer to write male characters as main characters because they are slightly easier to work with than girls - and this is coming from a girl *smacks head*
Anyway, she would need some kind of power up that she can immediately use and not have to train for for too long.
Maybe she will indeed get stronger than Tsunade, but that would happen after the war then when she had more time to study and advance.
But still, she really could use a power up now.

Yes, indeed, that was the case where Kishi would've done it until now, of course. Still, she could put something between Pein Arc - Kage Summit - War arc.
Sakura is known to be a fast learner, if you remember Kakashi only needed to explain once the basics of chakra control and she was already up in the tree, so fast-learning wouldn't be a problem for her.

I know boys are easier when it comes to personality than girls, that's why I was referring to the fact that he doesn't have to deal with her personality too much - I even like her the way she is, she is human and the most realistic character in my opinion -, just with her powers.

She needs some damn diversity and power-up, or else, why did Kishi put her in the Team 7 in the first start? Why did he made female characters if he cannot handle them properly?

And I agree that getting stronger than Tsunade will be after that, but as we have seen, after that the story tends to end, when will he be able to develop her to become even more greater than Tsunade, if not as soon enough?

I agree she needs a power-up. Frankly, her development would be what it would keep me tied-up to this manga if Tsunade dies, but as I see the direction going, I'm hardly going to do it.

But anyway, that's just another subject. :)

I think he put her there to act as the healer and the emotional one of the team. Most girls end up being some kind of healer so he probably intended her to be just that.
It's true that she's a fast learner, but for the power up that she needs now, a few hours of studying probably won't cut it.
I would think he just showed her in the epilogue leading a hospital or so with a flashback of her studying. That way he could show the readers how she got there without having to write a lot of chapters about it. It would actually be interesting to read how everyone will end up after the war.
But yeah, he could have done a whole lot better with her - especially because she is one of the main characters. She looked promising during her fight with Sasori but then he screwed her over again *sighs* She's still one of my least favourite characters, but even I agree she needs some kind of power up soon

Yes. And Sakura is there to portray the emotional part of the story. Remember the rule no. 25? A shinobi can never show his emotions during a fight? Her role is to show that in a world where you're trained to become a killing machine (because if you look at it, somehow it's like that) emotions will always burst. She's like the feminine version of Obito. Remember he was always the one who showed emotions and Kakashi was always the one who talked about not showing them, like the cold Sasuke, hardly showing emotion. And Rin was like Naruto, having them, but being quite quiet about that.

I find it really nice that Team 7 is so much alike Team Minato. :) Anyway, that's another subject.

And, yes, Kishimoto could deal that with some panels showing her remembering how she learned that specific jutsu, or something like that and he would save time and space, 2 in 1 blow.

I know she's still you're least favourite character, or one of them, but what I've always respected about you is this frank attitude towards things like that.
Any normal person would see and agree to the fact that out of Team 7, Kishi forgot her and needs to bring her on the same pair with them. :)

In my opinion I think Naruto or Shizune would feel more saddened by Tsunade's death.

The relationship between Sakura and Tsunade, seems very formal in my opinion. There is a mutual respect between them as master and student, but I don't see any affection between them at all. I'm sure Sakura will feel sad, but I don't think she'll be THAT sad.

Shizune on the other hand, will probably be a mess, as Tsunade is the last connection she has to her uncle, Dan.

hehe, as I've stated before, that's why I was curious about her and her reaction.
Because we know that Shizune would be devastated, Naruto would rage-out but what about Sakura, besides crying? And not only her, I am sure she's not going to be the only one who will cry, but Sakura plays the emotional role here.
So besides that, what?
Well, I guess that IF Tsunade dies, we'll find out. :)

I was curious because we've seen the relationship that Jiraya and Naruto had, but never too much about Sakura's and Tsunade one. Although we know that Sakura respected Tsunade very much and always adressed her in a polite way, unlike Jiraya and Naruto who were talking more formal, like they were relatives (well, actually they were).

It would be interesting to see a contract between the both, as we've never seen Tsunade showing Sakura how to summon or anything like that, though Katsuyu seemed to be quite close to Sakura as well, in the 3 tails arc and Pein arc. :)
Hopefully that if Tsunade dies, Kishimoto will develop Sakura more.
Pardon me, *if* Tsunade dies? she's in two pieces. i kind of liked Tsunade but Kishi knows that he can't have a whole war with none of the good guys dying. Personally i believe that she will use the last of her strength to save the other kages and then she will die. (I almost shit when i saw dead Gaara i was sooooo pissed off)

Let's just hope history won't repeat himself and a next Obito rises...
I think Kishimoto-sensei forgot her so easily because Naruto and Sasuke remind him of himself and his friend while Sakura ... Is she actually based on someone he knows? Because I can't remember if I ever read something about that.

Anyway, she would indeed need to get stronger than Tsunade if she ever wants to be on par with Sasuke and Naruto, but those two are getting ridiculously overpowered. They both surpassed their teachers already and at the end of the story they'll probably be the two strongest shinobi if they keep getting power ups like that. Sakura needs one hell of a power up to be able to even reach them.

Her best option would be to specialize in healing because she seems to have a skill in that, as shown by her developing an antidote for Sasori's poison. Naruto represents Jiraiya, Sasuke represents to an extent Orochimaru, so it would be nice if Sakura represents Tsunade. At this point in the story, she's not quite there yet but hopefully in the end, she will manage to surpass her teacher.
She could do it, but that will require a lot of studying of her and a lot of training.

I'm of the opinion that even if you don't like certain characters, you still need to be realistic and acknowledge them for how they really are and not mindlessly bash them. Like, I think of Orochimaru as a freaky leech, but I can admit that he's an opponent to fear. Sorry for the bit off topic ^^;

Like others have said, if Tsunade dies, it will give sakura the inscentive to take her place. The only medical shinobi even remotely near her level are Sakura and Shizune so it would be one of these two's job to carry on her legacy. Now people can bash Tsunade all they want, but if Sakura managed to get the kind of power and medical expertise Tsunade had or even surpassed that, she would easily be able to role with the big boys. One punch is TKO for anyone that decides they can tank it. Sakura would really be over powered if she used her skills in smarter ways then Tsunade. Super Strength goes a long way if used right.

Pardon you, yes, IF!
Until it's an undeniable proof that she is dead, IF clause is correctly used.
Plus, there are a lot of things hinting about Tsunade's possible survival.

1. Creation/Genesis rebirth - the technique that reconstructs organs.
2. Katsuyu's quick reaction - I'll put your body back together ag... (again?). Nonetheless it showes us the fact that Tsunade/Katsuyu have dealth with this kind of problem before.
3. Kishimoto making her state that she'll never die in battle.
4. The Yin Seal is present there meaning anything could happen in her favour and that of the Kages.
5. Dan's request not to come into the other world for now. Why would Kishimoto make Dan state that if he plans to kill her?
And last, but not least, his interview where he declared that major character won't be killed and everyone's favourite character will be playing a big part in defeating Madara.

Now, Tsunade is a major character in the manga at the moment... So that's why I am using the *IF* claws.

Not to mention her lineage, inheriting the Senju body, descendants of the Sage himself. :)

She'll use drugs to overcome her pain but takes an overdosis and dies. And that will lead us to WHAT WILL NARUTO DO WHEN HE HEARS THAT SAKURA DIED?. I can give you an answer to that aswell. He'll say to Madara that he can take the kyubi and kill him because the one he cared about died. I so wish this would all happen but i doubt it...

I just trolled the NarutoBase...

TROLOLOLO SONG OWNS btw.
