Problem is that Kishimoto-sensei tends to concentrate solely on Naruto and Sasuke while leaving Sakura in the cold. He actually admitted during an interview, when asked when we would see Sakura's background story, that he had completely forgotten about her. For being one of the three main characters, that's actually kind of sad.
But I think he tends to forget her because she doesn't have an impressive heritage like Naruto and Sasuke have. Naruto is not only the son of the Fourth Hokage, the main hero around who the story is concentrated on but also has a Bijuu locked in him while Sasuke is the heir of the Uchiha clan, famous for their Sharingan, and of which the bloodline gives ample opportunity to create more interesting and dangerous jutsus.
Compared to those two, what can Sakura speak of that would make her impressive? As far as I know, her parents are just regular village people. She is a student of Tsunade, has an impressive strength and has skills in healing but she doesn't have an impressive bloodline that leaves space for interesting jutsu's nor has a bijuu that could lend her strength or is a daughter of someone famous and skilled.
So it will be a challenge for Kishimoto-sensei to give her a power up, but I hope he gives her one, if only because it would be interesting to see which kind of power up she would get. (Damn, never thought I would ever write something like that O_O)
Well, yes, he tends to concentrate on the 2 of them and that is a shame, to be honest. Not just Sakura, but there are a lot of other characters in the Naruto manga.
And for God's Sake, that interview was in 2010, 2 years have passed since then and people really expressed the desire of Sakura having a power-up, to align her on the same pair with the 2 of them.
I agree that she doesn't have a lineage, but that's not an excuse to be honest. Look at Sarutobi clan, no special traits, yet Hiruzen was called the God of Shinobi. And giving power-ups is not that hard.
I mean, he has the base, Tsunade. He could make Sakura learn medical nin techniques as well as those damn genjutsu techniques that he hinted. Not to mention that TWICE he hinted that Sakura may get to be even more powerful than Tsunade. Why make those statements if you don't plan on doing such things.
He made Hiruzen, a non special lineage character have that power, and he cannot make Sakura at least a bit more powerful? He's been saying that he cannot handle with women personalities.
Well, to be honest, it's a bit of a bullshit to excuse himself forgetting about her or the women characters. Why do I say that? Because you don't have to look in personality traits, pshycology in order to invent some damn powers.
They are there, different than the personality. But oh well, that's Kishi.
And I have to admit it was quite funny to see you wishing such a thing, hehe! ^^
Like falling in love with a total nutjob that never returned her feelings and even tried to kill her? What I said wasn't meant to be sarcasm, that's what I think will happen - Sakura will be depressed and cry. And who knows maybe after that she would seek revenge...
Lol I can totally see that happening, Ino's dad will announce it on the "radio" and Sakura will charge headlong into perfect susanoo hehehe
People keep blaming her that she fell in love with Sasuke, but I never recall of people who were actually able to command the heart to stop loving. Many of them didn't even understand Sakura's role in the story besides being a member of Team 7, so that's why they keep using the same over-used reasons: she cries! Well was she the only shinobi in the Narutoverse that cried? No. I don't understand why they keep bashing over this thing. Some of them probably don't even know the rule no. 25 of the Shinobi world and what impact it had on that world.
And there was one more character that did that, but people never blamed him, probably because, indeed it hasn't been shown that much as Sakura.
Anyway, passing by that, she can be determined and I am very curious if Tsunade dies, to see her reaction in regards to that.
Your right, but the thing about Sakura is that he started Shippuden the most developed besides Sasuke. Naruto had to be an underdog in his development to make Sasuke a beast. Sakura, however, came out to be the best female, if not second to hinata, in the k11. That shows how much Kishi planned for her. Then again, she has been receiving bad development recently, which finally got turned around when she took out the fake neji. Kishi has a hard time developing the females and he stated this, but f you look at tsunade personally, she has came out from a horrible gambler, into one of the best Kages ever. The problem people say concerning her is not valid because she has had to work the absolute hardest when it comes down to saving the village.
Well, Sakura being a part of Team 7 and Kishi making her state that she will get more powerful in order to protect those two kinda don't add to what he's done with her.
I agree, he gave her that strenght (she had it ever since the beginning, but now it went to monstrous levels), the ability to heal, dealing with poison and.. that's kinda it.
Not even a gram of offensive medical ninjutsu! Which should be done by basics, considering is just the chakra system that you mold it how you want it and send it into the opponents chakra system.
And Tsunade, well, I have to agree that he did great with Tsunade and to me, she is a great kage and female. Only that if you look at it, he always put Tsunade in Orochimaru and Jiraya's shadow. Look around you, people still think she's nothing compared to those two, which up to a certain point, it's not true.
And about Kishi developing female characters, well, as I said... It's not that hard to develop a technique and make that female character to use it. It has nothing to do with the personality.
I agree that the personality might be hard to portray, but jutsus are hard? Seriously? Why is it so hard to develop a jutsu and make that character the user of it?
I think it's really good for the story Tsunade dies and it should logically mean Kishi's going to focus more on Sakura. It would be very easy to move on to Sakura now and it would be strange if Kishi didn't and now he can simply get Sakura's character back into the light by showing how she handles this situation. She hasn't been doing much in the war, it's true. But now with Sasuke supposedly invading Konoha for the final arc, the focus will be on Naruto and Sakura as well. The war was a way to switch from the main characters for a while.
No, if Tsunade dies that doesn't assure us that Kishi is focusing on Sakura, unfortunately. He has always forgot about her, about the female characters of the series.
Although logically it would be for him to do so, he has no time to develop her if he wants to end the series plus, as we can see the war is not switched from the main characters, it has been the other way around.
Naruto mastering Bijuu mode, Sasuke getting EMS and remeeting Itachi and now he'll have the tides of the war and Sakura... well, Sakura nothing. Just in the backs, healing, no special feats shown.
I agree though, Ino-Shika-Chou has been featured in this war, although there are more characters in this show.
Anyway, Kishi in the end I think doens't give a damn, so yeah...
