i do agree
some mods act mightier them some
but latley all mods been chill

I think it would atleast make NB citizens feel special in a way

the top 2 canidates NB Admins choose. give a speech blah blah blah
then we vote

You as well as everybody here are correct, i also admitted i didn't know there was such an option to become a mod . I never heard or seen it before.

It's not as easy as you think even for lots of reasons.

• You need to have a good history reporting threads.
• Active member of another forum
• Basic coding knowledge

Voting for a mod would never work.

Just because you like someone, it doesn't mean they will make a good Moderator. Like if you voted for me, i'd probably act nice until i let my temper get the best of me, then get lazy over time ect...

The current application and interview process is much more effective.

You don't need coding knowledge to be honest, unless you're an admin. Unless you were on about the BB coding, basic mods don't do much.

Thanks for the nominations guys but this site is more of a autocracy, which is understandable but this whole thing would turn into a popularity contest rather than people becoming mods for legitimate reasons.

The mods here don't interact with us so they can maintain a professional level and not cloud their judgment when it comes to infractions and bans. Even though i don't like it, again its understandable.

This has been brought up before and shot down for a couple main reasons if I remember correctly.
1: many people would vote for themselves
2: You may very well think that someone is fit to be a moderator but the staff doesn't.
3: It might turn into a popularity contest and people trying to get on the good side of mods the voted for.
4: The staff pick someone that they trust and think would be a good mod.

For example you 2012 generation people think that its just your generation around and there aren't people around before you that would deserve it more.
The staff looks at every infraction, every report you ever got or made. Any complaints you got from another person, any people you have had problems with.
Oh and btw, G-Mods aren't just picked from new people. They are premoted from within.

EDIT: You have to be an older and trusted member. No one from the 2012 generation is an old or trusted member yet. Hell, I'm not even an old member yet and well I can't really say about the trust part, you'd have to ask the staff on that one.

Actually, I don't think it would work well. Mods are chosenby the admins for integrity...so they'd still have to be proven to be fair and unbiased anyway. Also, I don't think this will even be considered...most likely just closed with a note from Tsuchi <3. xd
